Okay thoroughly impressed. I bought a jar I wasn't satisfied I contacted the company they sent me a new jar of pickles. I'm so impressed by a company willing to stand behind their product and do the right thing. The new jar is delicious.

Bought a jar of these today. Garlic and Dilli'd never seen them before but bought in to the "buy local" vibe as the are "Detroit" picklesThey taste AMAZING but are too "soggy" I prefer a crunchy pickleHere is the kicker though....Reading the jar ?These pickles are "crafted for McClures" and are made in....INDIA ?!?!?!Not Indiana (which would still be weird) but INDIA?!?!?!Thats just CRAZY

Warning to all Canadians: Try at your own risk of disappointment
Saw these "Spicy Spears" in a grocery store in Edmonton, AB, when I was looking for in the cooler section for Claussen pickles (THE gold standard for dill pickles!). No Claussen but these were there so I figured, why not, these must be good if they're in the cooler. Boy was I mistaken!
Seeing the other reviews on here makes me wonder if these reviewers have EVER truly had good pickles? Maybe they should track down some Claussens but they'll likely never touch these again!
I was doubtful that these even contained dill, but surprisingly it was there in the ingredients--dead last. With how much was actually in the jar, I would guess dill is more valuable than gold.
Now for my review.
Flavour: Overwhelming taste of vinegar--and I mean it is the main taste. Spiciness was present but mild (due to sharp vinegar). Couldn't taste any dill. That about sums it up, not really even any salt or garlic taste (likely due to vinegar).
Crunchiness: Very mild, almost too soft.
The rest of my family were all disappointed but, unlike me, they can't bring themselves to toss out pickles... unlike me, the "pickle snob". Note though, I've never thrown out pickles unless they were "off" (improperly canned).
My suggestion? Save your money.
Update (After seeing McClure's response): I appreciate the offer to refund but no longer have the receipt as it was a purchase made while traveling in another province. I can, though, supply the batch code: IA05482023 (Best Before 17/Mar/2025) as requested.
I have updated the review from 1-star to 2-star based on the manufacturer's expressed interested in the batch code (which shows willingness to stand behind their products & ability to investigate if something is wrong).

Got these for Christmas in a White elephant gift exchange, I love pickles, and these garlic dill spears are absolutely delicious. Literally the best pickle I’ve ever had, I will only be eating these from now on.

I first discovered McClure's Bloody Mary mix at Whole Foods and fell in love. It's spicy! I also tried their non spicy mix but prefer the spicy. This is my go to Bloody Mary mix.

The best pickels this side of the hudson. Pick up a jar where ever you see them. McClure's are delicious and crunchy and totally worth it. Why of why Whole foods can't you stock McClure's?
