Place is pretty chill honestly. The people who go there are often friendly, will chat you up if you are willing to talk, and I even seen them help people reel in their catches. A lady caught a huge cat and people from one end of the pier ran to help her with their net.
The only downside is that the fish don't seem to bite much unless you're at one of the ends of the shore line. But if you want to sit, relax, and watch the waves, you will enjoy yourself here.

I got the feeling that this place is not safe , the whole look and feel of the place didn't feel good and there was a strong smell of weed in the air , trash everywhere and it was a very hostile environment. I don't recommend this park to anyone and it was not at all an enjoyable visit for me even though I didn't run into any issues. Now I see here that people have had much worse experiences of people breaking int to their cars and stuff

Beautiful place to visit. Used to open all night but they are now locking the park gate by 10 pm

Compared to other Michigan parks, this left a lot to be desired. Park was unclean, trash all over, bathrooms were unclean. Potential to be a great spot maybe it’s better in the summertime?

I love coming here to either go fishing or just watch the freighters pass by. But there is just so much trash there it’s kind of ridiculous. And I know that the city can’t stop geese from doing their business but they could try a little harder to clean it up on some of the spots where it is bad. Also the lighthouse looks like it hasn’t been clean since the 90s
