I have known people that work at this refinery, and they all say the same thing. "you cannot have a life with out jobs. This refinery provides jobs to a great many people. It may smell a bit around this refinery at times, but it is going to smell around any refinery at times. If you think the smell is bad, just move down to certain parts of Texas, and tell use how bad the smell is here!!

Complain all you want about air quality, but you chose to live near this beast. Manufacturing powers the local and national economy. I would choose to have it and its environmental hazards over low-value jobs.By the way, those comfy office jobs, they only exist because we have a manufacturing backbone. You can't have just a service sector and cubicle farm to power a nation's economy.

So thankful for having an oil and gas refiner Here in my home state of Michigan I'm from Lansing MI.I believe its Such a needed and valuable resource right now.

Air quality is horrendous. Ever ask whats the smell driving on I-75, "140,000 barrels per calendar day, the only petroleum refinery in Michigan" _ (Marathon Petroleum, 2020). Send them a message with your wallet.

One of the major reasons why our air is terrible and always smells, Marathon argues that it would be "too expensive" to comply with emissions reduction targets and would cost jobs. So, as an alternative, we breathe filthy air. Thanks, folks!

It's a good company to work for and they work hard to keep the place safe and happy. They make gasoline and diesel as well as many other petrochemical feedstock which undoubtedly everyone uses, so it's hard to find a fault here.
