if i could give out negative stars i would. i contacted this company a week before my move and scheduled without a problem. at the scheduling i even expressed my concern about the poor reviews and how shocked i was as this had always been the company to move my family..i spoke with the owner several times leading up to my move date to make sure everything was in placed and reiterated my concerns about the poor reviews. i was assured each time that they would arrived at the scheduled time and the owner’s response about the poor reviews was, well you can’t please everybody . now let’s fast forward to the moving day. let’s just say from 10:00am until 3:30pm i got excuse after excuse after excuse. the story about why there was a delay changed over 10 times. it is truly
sad to say that these negative reviews are indeed true and once upon a time when the dad was still alive this was a great moving company as it was my family’s go to company: since the son had taken over, everything had literally gone down hill and it is sad to see.

Drop my washing machine and dryer dryer doesn’t told them about they say they would come and pick up to fix that’s been almost two weeks ago not a good business practice I tried to support this black business but it is not ran properly so if I was you I would get another moving company this is not the one period bad customer service.

This company is poorly managed. They are unprofessional and untimely. They had me waiting for hours. Making an appointment time is useless. They come when they are ready! I will never use them again!

John and his company have helped me with many light moving jobs inside my property - moving refrigerators or furniture between floors. They have also hauled away junk for a reasonable price as well as helped with some major demo work. The team pulled up a vinyl floor to help expose hardwoods on my entire 2nd floor. I'm always flexible regarding time, not on a tight schedule. They show up, work hard, and help with any small jobs I have. I so appreciate having the help and someone to call when I need heavy lifting. Thank you!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVERRRRRR. If I could have rated them with ZERO STARS, I would have! They stood us up not only once, but twice. I have never ever dealt with a ‘SO CALLED’ professional company that has been so unprofessional. After promising to come to our residence TWICE, once at 11, per our contract, then again at 2. At 1:50 they gave me a phone number of another mover, stating that they were then going to move me, but who also ended up blocking my phone number after promising to show up as well!! This was a nightmare! They do not honor their contract.Also, when we use them first seven months ago, they offered us a $50 discount if we gave them a good review on Google. So be very skeptical of any good reviews on here. It was only done because of a discount.

Was on time, handled merchandise with care, very patient and hard working. Went the extra mile to insure my washing machine and dryer was set up correctly and working properly. Was polite and answer all my questions. I will definitely use this service again and looking forward to it!

Didn't show up on day scheduled. Showed up very late next day. Only sent 2 men when I asked for 3. Truck too small had to come back next day. Broken glass in curio cabinet, broken end table, broken legs on 2 recliners and multiple chips in almost all wood furniture pieces. New mattresses got filthy! The two movers worked their their butts off and the 3rd one they sent the next day did too. I will never use them again. Not the same as when John, the father owned the company. Sorry to give a bad rating, but I wouldn't want anyone to go thru what we did.

I WANT TO SHARE MY MOVING EXPERIENCE. I SCHEDULED MY MOVING/RELOCATION WITH A COMPANY NAME GOLD STANDARDS TWO WEEKS AGO, PLUS HAD TO PAY A DEPOSIT. THEY EMAILED ME A TIME AND DATE A THIRD PARTY COMPANY WAS SUPPOSED TO DO MY MOVE, LONG STORY SHORT, MOVERS NEVER SHOULD UP AND HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO CONTACT PERSON FROM GOLD STANDARDS WHO GUARANTEED ME THE MOVE AND WHO TOOK MY PAYMENT.I CALLED JG MOVING COMPANY, THE DAY I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MOVED, THE OWNER WAS VERY UNDERSTANDING AND EMPATHIC. HIS CREW WAS FINISHING A JOB, BUT PROMISED HE WOULD MOVE ME THE NEXT DAY. HIS CREW SHOULD AND WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND VERY FRIENDLY. THE DROP OFF WAS THE NEXT DAY THE SAME RESULTS A DIFFERENT CREW BUT EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY. I TAKE MY HAT OFF TO THE OWNER, HE IS VERY PROFESSIONAL, FRIENDLY AND UNDERSTANDING. I ALSO LOVE THE FACT HE HAS YOUNG PEOPLE WORKING FOR HIM. I LOVE THE FACT THAT THESE YOUNG PEOPLE ARE DOING SOMETHING POSITIVE, PLUS EARNING A LIVING.I STRONGLY RECOMMEND JG MOVING COMPANY, BECAUSE THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL VERY FRIENDLY AND VERY RELIABLE. JG AND GREW THANKS FOR BEING A LIFESAVER. GOD BLESS IJN!!

The owner did a great job working with me because I changed my date/ time of move multi times however he was super understanding. He junked my things on the first move, and completed the job. I was getting a third party to pay and he was working with me to get all the require documents. I didn't have no way to get my U-Haul and offered to give me a ride. The next two moves John sent two guys they were professional but understanding, I was late but they still completed the job and didn't give me a hard time. I also asked for him to drive my U-Haul back to the place and he safety drove it back which was a big help.

Was extremely late, didn't even look like a moving company. 2 kids and a uhaul. Was supposed to be to me at 11:30 showed up at 12:45 took so long and was late to my arriving point. Then scratched my TV, called the boss for a deal then he charges me an extra 100 cause they went over an extra hour that wasn't my fault, then called me crazy cause I said he was unprofessional. Do not use this company. Its a waste of money. What was supposed be $275 job cost me 325 not to mention all I had was 275 so then I had to call and get the rest because of the unprofessional boss.The kids were nice but moved slow , I'm not knocking no ones hustle. But be professional and look like a moving company. Zero stars

ZERO STARS (but that wasn’t an option)!Our experience with J and G Moving Company was terrible. They were scheduled here at 10:30 a.m., and after calling them multiple times, they finally arrived at 7:00 p.m. The men who came had no idea what they were moving and did not have the tools needed to move the treadmill. (When I booked the appointment, I told the secretary everything we needed moved.) The men spent time on the phone arguing with their boss about whether they should go get the tools or leave. They opted to leave. While they were here, one of the men asked to use our restroom, and he urinated all over the toilet seat and the floor. The other man kept telling me how hard our move was and how tired he was. (We had them move five items from the inside of the house to the garage.) They scuffed our walls terribly, left dirty handprints on the walls, got paint on our furniture that will not come out, and gouged pieces out of several walls and door trim. (There were wood pieces from door trim all over my son’s room.) They said they would return the next day to do the treadmill.Two men returned the next day to complete the move, but arrived three hours late. Again, there was no knowledge of how to move a treadmill, the only remaining item in the move. They tried to borrow our tools because they didn’t have everything they needed, and then they left to go purchase the tools they needed and returned with snacks. Then they left AGAIN because they purchased the wrong tools the first time.When they were done moving the treadmill, it did not work, and they could not find the screws to put part of it back together. They seemed annoyed that we wanted all of the pieces back in place and that we wanted our treadmill to work properly. Then they told me that they like to receive tips. What?!?I have moved many times, and this was the absolute worst experience I have ever had. DO NOT use this company for your move. They are unreliable, unprofessional, and do not have the skills to handle moving anything large. This is the first review I’ve ever posted about anything online, but I don’t want others to deal with these frustrations and pay for bad service.

This company scheduled a friend of mine for a move at 10:30a. At 12:37p they said they were on the way. At 2:25p we were still waiting. My friend called the company and was given excuses as to why they weren't there. He cancelled. Unbeknownst to him, he scheduled with this same company again. They apologized for the inconvenience and told him he would be the first pickup today (10:30a). We're still waiting...?I gave them one star because they answered the phone.
