One of the worst hotels we’ve stayed at. We were definitely fooled by the “updated” pictures on their website. The lobby looks great at first glance, but when you really start to pay attention you can see that it’s just lipstick on a pig. The room was very disappointing. Horrible air circulation, the humidity in the room was higher than the humidity outside. There was no extractor in the bathroom, there was a vent in there but it was so dusty and rusty. Because of the humidity, the towels never felt dry. The toilet never really fully flushed, you had to hold the lever until it mostly flushed but then the water would rise back up and the water pressure in the shower was so low. We had to end our trip short, we couldn’t stay there another night. Needless to say, I am so upset that I didn’t do more research on this place before wasting close to $800 on this place. If you are planning to travel with kids, please do not stay here. The location seems great because of the proximity to Detroit but it is not a good area. We had numerous locals tell us we shouldn’t have stayed in that area. Please do yourself a favor and do not stay here.

This was the filthiest hotel I have ever stayed at. Don’t let the fancy main floor fool you, the rooms are absolutely repulsive. $200 wasted, I am NOT happy. The vent in the bathroom was unacceptable, CAKED with dust and dirt, the fan wouldn’t even run. We opted to not even use the shower because it was so gross. I’ve stayed in $40 Red Roof Inns that were more impressive than this. Not to mention the paper thin doors they have on the rooms, I could have kicked the door down easy with just my socks on, and the gap under the door going into the hallway- could easily roll a tennis ball under it. Not safe. The gap is so large all of the light from the hallway floods into the room all night. I have never felt so scammed by a place before. What a complete waste of money. $200 DOWN THE DRAIN. Oh and the cherry on top, BUGS.

It was a decent stay for a night. It's located a few blocks outside of the city center. The room was pretty plain, no pictures on the walls etc. Nice big window overlooking Grand Blvd. Comfy bed. Limited channels on the television. No valet.

20 years ago, my husband and I stayed at the Hotel Saint Regis, after getting married at Ste Anne de Detroit. This past May 2024, for our 20th Anniversary, my husband thought it would be nice to stay here again and do dinner at one of the many wonderful local restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised to see the updates to the lobby and bar area. The person that checked us in was delightful. However, once we exited the elevator, everything went downhill. The hallway was creepy and dimly lit. One of the lights flickered off an on at the end of the hallway - like in "The Shining". My husband reserved one of the suites, but after opening the door, I said "no way"! The wallpaper in the room was peeling and there was water damage to the walls and ceiling. The room smelled musty and the couch was stained and tired looking. My hubby went down the front desk and was given the option of a double queen room instead. It was better but far from acceptable. One of the beds had a stained coverlet. There were vanity lights outside the bathroom but no switch and no light bulbs. There were 4 lights above the sink in the bathroom, but only one light bulb. The bathroom ceiling looked like it was going to cave in - the water damage was bad. I was hesitant to stay but it was late and we were tired. Given the long list of notable people who have stayed at the Hotel Saint Regis during it's historic hay day, the hotel could and SHOULD be a Detroit gem. However, as it sits now, the rooms and corridors are in such a sad state of disrepair, I could not recommend. I don't blame the staff as they were all wonderful and no amount of cleaning or friendliness could make up for the structural deficiencies of the Hotel Saint Regis. I hope that the owners invest in the kind of restoration work this Detroit landmark deserves.

I booked a room through priceline with them for one night and I've been dealing with headache since then. My card was charged unnecessarily, I spoke with the manager and she said my card would be credited the 145 and I still don't see anything pending. I'll never book with them. You have to call a million times before front desk answers the phone. Completely ridiculous. I've never had this issue with any other hotel before.

Do not stay here. In five nights I was only able to take something resembling a hot shower once.

Absolutely horrible. Bad rooms and location with an even worse staff. Avoid at all costs.

This is the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. The room is so dirty and run down. You can see where the “upgrades” that were made years ago were beyond cheap. Looks like someone wrote the length of the granite in permanent marker and they never cleaned it off. No drain cover in the bathroom. Disgusting vents. I didn’t even shower and wore my clothes to bed. I asked twice for maintenance to come and fix the AC. They said they did but I was in the room both times and no one ever came. Beyond disappointing. Having the name “St. Regis” you expect a type of quality that here was completely gone. I felt beyond unsafe as well as the dead bolt was barely screwed in and the door was not locked completely. As a woman who travels for business, this is a huge warning to all. Please do not come here.

Made a reservation online, but when we showed up they said they didn't have a room. So why was I even able to make a reservation? And both people at the front desk could not care less. Very dismissive and uncaring

Location is good for a hotel, but the rest is horrible. Booked a double queen room in advance, when we went to check in they told us the room we booked was not available. Would not compensate for the negligence on their part.
Another group in our party booked a room, and when they arrived the hotel said there were no rooms available at all and did not provided any accommodation.
Would not recommend staying at this hotel at all.
