It’s not worth the $20 you’ll save versus going to any of their competitors lol
The woman we dealt with at the counter was so rude. I was in such a great mood for someone who woke up at 4am. She [almost] completely ruined that in a 5 minute interaction at 9:30 am. She was very indifferent in her greeting and then became visibly upset when she couldn’t make an upsell of a premium car to me. You could see the glimpse of joy in her eyes when she said I could upgrade for an additional $15 and I sounded interested. Then I asked her to clarify if it was an additional $15 a day and when she said yes, I told her I wasn’t interested. Her mood changed instantly LOL
The parking lot is horribly marked and the woman just put a parking spot number on my invoice without a letter or anything. So when my wife went back to get clarification on the location of the car, my wife got an attitude from the same lady.
I would’ve spent the extra $15/day to go to Alamo for the same or lesser of a car just to upset that horrible woman even more, if I could have at that point.
Two stars for the car. Zero stars for service.

I needed a car, and T-Mobile Tuesday had a special that you don't have to fill the tank upon return.

Easy in, easy out. Could not have been more painless. Car had a minor dent when I picked it up. Noted with attendant when leaving lot. Security deposit was back in my account the next day after dropping off. Would have been a 5 star, but the car was not as clean as would be expected for the price.

Will definitely explore different options for the next time. The car was nice but the young gal that "helped" us was anything but helpful.

Never again. For years, I've regularly rented many cars from several car rental companies, so I understand standard protocol. I selected my vehicle from a row of vehicles that included some that had what appeared to be trash in the cup holders, an indication that returned vehicles aren't cleaned.
I wasn't provided with a checklist to annotate the condition of the vehicle I received.
Upon returning the vehicle, the lot attendant couldn't provide me with a contract closeout receipt but told me I could get one from the front counter. I went to the counter, and the representative told me that she couldn't provide me a copy because the contract was "closed out electronically" and I should automatically receive it via email. I asked her to verify the email address that was on-file, because as I checked my email while standing there, I hadn't received anything. She said that her onscreen information didn't show my email address. I wanted a receipt to review what was recorded by the lot agent to close out the contract, because in hindsight, I've discovered enough unfavorable online reviews to regret doing business here. The representative was very pleasant, patient and accommodating, but the only thing she could offer was to use my phone to take a photo of my final charges. I gave her my phone for the photo and returned to the lot to ask the attendant if my receipt had been emailed. She said it had, but "it takes an hour" to show up.
It's nearly 24 hours later and I still don't have an email. Considering how frequently Dollar emailed me before I closed out the contract and how quickly they charged my credit card, this is some greasy foolishness. They should be reported to Michigan's Office of Attorney General. How the he11 can they just take consumers' money and not provide a receipt to at least allow a renter an opportunity to review the final contract close out charges, in the event there is a discrepancy that needs to be challenged? Another Dollar customer on the airport shuttle expressed her discomfort with her vehicle return experience.

Online checkin would not work so I had to go in to the office. Long wait and staff just trying to sell insurance and gas. Never brought car around as the counter agent said they would. After waiting 10 minutes for the car they finally said i could go to spot xxx and take that car. Could have just stated that upfront. Between the skip the counter not working and dealing with inside it took an extra half hour. Last time with Dollar

Five months ago, I could not forget what they did to me. I am a mother of two children. I arrived from a long, tiring trip and had to deal with the worst rental companies. Disrespect, inappropriate behavior. They treat you rudely and try to steal money. I do not recommend them at all.

I am so disappointed, first there was no service after the counter. Was told go pick a vehicle in the first two rows , utility was an upgrade. Only choice was kia force's which I found out after leaving the airport is a compact and I paid for midsized. No one inspected the vehicle and there are scratches everywhere. Which I was warned if there are any, that they would surely charge me.

The billing experience with Dollar Rentals was unsatisfactory. I returned the car with a full tank of fuel, however I was charged more than twice the original rental price I was quoted. I also verbally declined any other waivers or charges, and this was clearly stated to their representative at the site. Their unfair charging practices have terminated our business relationship.

If I could give them six stars I would at least for sure Shantia.
Shanita was EXTREMELY helpful in my decision and process to use Dollar Car Rental. I was in a bit of a predicament and she went above and beyond with her customer service skills.
Kind, understanding, helpful, positive attitude I could continue. Undoubtably the best customer service I have received in a long time and will no doubt be forever thankful and grateful for my experience here.
Thank you Shantia you’re a god send.

Had to come to Michigan because a family member was hospitalized. I booked the car online for several days, but had to extend. I was told I was given a "discount rate" for the initial rental and had to pay the "real rate" to extend the rental. This was double the original amount. I wish I could have just returned the car and turned around and rented right again. Would have saved me hundreds of dollars, but I couldn't drive an away away to "return" the car. What a trap. I could understand a small additional cost, but double is outrageous. They are just waiting for someone to fall into that trap. Never will I rent from these people again.

Please save yourself from this place at ALL COSTS paid for rental car ahead of time and still had to check in where I found out I had to have a credit card for a 500 dollar security deposit after that was paid I got hit with another young driver fee and credit check and still was not able to get the car I understand the situation but to be so rude and unprofessional I don’t think was fair after paying ahead of time to avoid these issues was left stranded until going to Alamo across the street service was excellent had a car within 5 minutes no extra fees excellent service

AWFUL experience. Waited over an hour for a vehicle, well past our reservation time. Had to wait in a little vestibule with two little kids. Finally got the vehicle and it WREAKED of marijuana. I rolled the windows down and decided to just suffer through it, waited again in an 8 car line to check out only to be told at the checkout booth that the vehicle needed an oil change. I had to pull back into the lot, get the kids back out of the car, wait again for another vehicle. The vehicle they gave me wasn't cleaned from the previous renter. Nobody even had the decency to apologize through any of the experience. Customer service is dead.
I fully expect to get the same canned response of forwarding to the local team to review, which we all know means absolutely nothing.
