The car blew a tire at 11pm so I tried to call roadside assistance. No surprise, but I wasn't able to get through to anyone at that time. I put the donut on the car and called budget in the morning asking what they would like me to do. I was told it was up to me, I could bring the car in and swap it for another, or just continue my rental on this car (it was only one more day). I decided to just keep the car as I wasn't going to be driving that much. I wanted to be sure there would be no charge to me for the blown tire, and was assured there would not be. I returned the car the next day, and also confirmed there would be no charge for the blown tire. Again, I was assured there would not be. I received my receipt in the mail, no charge for blown tire listed. 6 months later I receive a letter in the mail saying I would be charged $119 for damage to the vehicle. 6 months! I called customer service and explained my story, Cameron was firm the charge was valid and suggested I dispute the charge with my credit card company which I am doing. I will not be renting with Budget anymore as there employees and company policies have shown a lack of honesty and integrity.

Be prepared to wait. Long wait for shuttle at airport. Three shuttles filled before we could get on. Long wait in line to pick up car, took about a hour. Understaffed. Received electric car that was not feasible or sensible for our use. Came back at night and traded for gasoline car. Customer service Ashley was awesome and got us on the way without a problem.

Quick, Easy, & and depending on the vehicle you choose will depend on your rate..but you can pick what’s most affordable to you. I applied for a Toyota Corolla and ended up with a dodge Charger!! I wasn’t upset at all. Lol nice staff as well.

Zero was not an option! What were you thinking? On the busiest travel holiday weekend. There were 2 representatives working the counter. Dozens of elderly, children waiting. Total show. Walked next door a picked up a car from Hertz and drove off. You get what you pay for. AVOID like the plague.

Long wait to get to the counter once dropped off by the shuttle. 1 hour 20 minutes, not including the time to do the transaction. My flight was just a little longer. All the people (shuttle bus driver, counter staff, return person) were good, there simply are not enough staff at the counter, though there is plenty of empty stations. This was a Thursday evening in middle of November, so not expected to be a high volume day.

How is this place in business? They should be shut down. I’ve never had a worse experience. Flew alone with 3 kids, arrived late at night and found at least 100 people in line ahead of me. It took over 1.5 hours to get our car. Car was flashing that it needed an oil change and was dirty. At 2 am I didn’t care any more. Checked car back in before we flew out, was dropped off in an empty remote part of the airport parking lot where 3 men on the bus got into a verbal altercation with the bus driver and then turned on me and my kids screaming at us and in our faces and there was no one around, nothing we could do but wait for the elevator to come in this empty remote part of the parking lot where we were dropped off. It was so scary. Then, after dropping the car off Sunday night I get an email today, Tuesday, saying my car has been checked in and was charged over $250 in extra day and late fees! They are just scamming people and stealing money. Customer service says they will “open a claim” but I have little hope. Will be disputing on my credit card and will never use budget again . Run, far away! **update** resolved extra day charges after over an hour on the phone only to receive a letter today, a month after I returned the car, saying the car was returned with “smoke smell” and I will be charged $450 to clean. I have never smoked! This is absolutely insane and such a scam. At this point I’m going to call my bank and tell them these are fraudulent charges. Beware!!

Renter Beware !!!1. First we found a long line at the rental station and waited over 2 hours in line to get our car, 2 hours in line is a LONG time. During this wait, no one from the rental company addressed the wait time or long line. Not one person apologized for the long wait.2. We wanted and reserved a SUV but the person at the desk informed us they did not have any ready so we got a car, this in itself is an issue.3. When we went to pick up our car the lot was so dark that it was impossible to see the condition of the vehicle. I would expect a better lit lot for safety and to check out the car.4. The car smelled bad. This was not evident when we first got the car, but it became apparent with the heater on as we drove.5. The windows were so dirty we could barely see out of them, when we tried the window washer, the window washing solvent was out. Since we had already entered the freeway it was necessary to pull off to the side of the freeway to pour water on the windows. This however did not solve the problem because the grime was on the inside. We had to use clothing to clean the windows.4. The next morning, when we got a good look at the car in the daylight we were disturbed to find a very dirty car both inside and out. It still smelled. We wondered if the car had even been cleaned.This is certainly not what we expect from a car rental, we received a dirty vehicle that smelled and needed service. (no window washing fluid). I expect a clean vehicle with all service fluids filled and all necessary services completed.Poor service. Vehicle dirty, smelled, essential fluids not filled.Beware or be prepared for issues when renting Budget cars.

Would give a zero star if possible! The company and branch know how many cars are being renting any given day. So why didn't the staff and Managers plan ahead and have more people working?!?

First of all, I do not have a driver's license.Budget at the DTW airport allowed a scammer to use my credit card to rent a card without my authorization. Why rent a car, a huge asset, to a scammer. without following the protocol? I shouldn't be responsible for this charge. I called Budget a few times to report this charge but no help. My case number is 58370839. The confirmation for the reservation is 36727499US4 under Frank Gyamerah and I found out that he returned the car to Ohio. Budget needs to reimburse me ASAP and go after the scammer.Please avoid this place at all cost.

Lack of Integrity and Training. The car was Nasty! They only vacuumed the car no wiping or cleaning. Sticky stuff all down the door and handle. Dirty and dusty under seats.The young lady at the exit told me I could exchange the car. I wasted so much time in line and debating a Policy No One SeemsTo Follow!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve rented in Detroit, Las Vegas and Cleveland with no problem. The agent at this rental didn’t tell me the policy change but her co workers don’t know there job!! I had to get to my destination. The best part of my rental was the return. I called customer care and requested a call from the GM at the Detroit Airport Budget.

Received filthy, damaged, and with dangerous tires! Do not rent from these people. We have been burned over and over and will never go back! Plus the driver never even offered to help us with our luggage. Just sat there with his mask on. Never again!

This is the absolute worst car rental experience I've ever had in my life. We've been standing in this line for over an hour and have barely moved. There's 50+ people waiting and not even two people working at all times- one keeps walking off constantly. AVOID THIS LOCATION AND COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Whoever is "managing" it should be fired immediately. UPDATE: I didn't post this review until after we left to see how long we ultimately waited. We stood in line for OVER TWO HOURS to get a rental. This is the worst run business I've ever experienced- I will NEVER come back to this location- neither should you if you value your time.

The worst service ever. Picking up and leaving. Didn't show me around the car or how to start it with the interior lights turned off. Next morning, I see scratches and dents and filth. The car was never cleaned. It was almost midnight when I picked up. I tried calling 6 different numbers in the a.m to no avail. Drop off was a mad house. The didn't check anything. Just took the keys. There are too many other car rental places to get a car.

Deplorable customer service experience! This company does not care about their customers. Without a doubt this was the worst experience checking in to rent a car. The lines were ridiculously long, going out the door. There were only 2 agents working with at least 100 people waiting to begin their weekend get away. One of the agents even took a lunch break while the line continued to grow as planes were arriving with more customers waiting in the line. After waiting for an hour we finally reached the front of the line where no acknowledgement of our lost time was offered. Even the person taking us to our car showed no concern when we voiced our dissatisfaction over the long wait. The photos of the long lines should speak for themselves. This was still the case a few days later when we dropped off our car to go home. Everyone standing in these lines had vacation time stolen from them, clearly Budget does not care about it's customers.
