Russel Jewell repaired my subwoofer's cone right before my eyes.. From our conversation, it seems, Russel was a staple in Detroit recording studios back in the day.I found him online... left a request for service on his website. He called me back after a competitor said they couldn't help me - their only solution was for me to purchase a new speaker for $250).When I got to Russel's shop in Detroit... I wondered...if I should actually stop - not because of area - but his store front ... a bit of a mess.. When I found courage to stop. He jumped right on it, did some common sense testing. Told me what he going to do and did it - right in front of me. He told me what the charge was only going to be. When I saw he seemed to know what he was doing... I decided to pay him more. He worked on it about an hour and a half. He worked on it on the sidewalk in front of his storefront. Too cool!

Russel is a wizard at audio repair, he helped me fixed my monitor speaker over the phone! Russel has seen many different movements in the Detroit music scene and is a pro at his trade.

My company has been involved in Live Sound (for hire) and custom loudspeaker designs and installations for Pro Audio applications since 1979. Audiolight, Inc. (Russ) has been a big part of our success stories pretty much the whole way.Rebuilding vintage loudspeaker systems is not a Plug-N-Play operation. It's more like cooking. Adding the quality ingredients, at just the right time and temperature, usually brings outstanding results.Russ has the experience, tenacity, supply chain and industry know-how to bring most (dead or severely damaged) Loudspeaker "DREAMS" back to life again. We've only encountered one speaker rebuild project that lead to what felt like a dead-end outcome. But to his credit, Russ refused to give up and let it go off the cliff. He demonstrated patience, creativity, dedication to the customer's needs and a high-level of problem-solving skills (marks of a Master Craftsman) to come up with a workable solution later on down the road. Now THAT is what I call Putting (and keeping) the Customer's needs at the front of the line!Old Guys rule...well...sometimes they do if they don't give up first. Thanks Russ! You are one in Ten Thousand...an Old School Master and Professional!
