We are very very disappointed in our experience. We had a quarter of a cow processed. We are fairly certain we were shorted meat, as the year before we received far more meat from another butcher. Not only do we feel we were shorted, but some our meat has an off putting smell when thawed and/or cooked. We know this is not the fault of the farmer as we have had his meat prior with no issue through another butcher service. Would strongly not recommend and I am very upset with what we felt we wasted money on. Just thankful we have not gotten sick considering the smell is as bad as it is.

My sister had a pig processed and I bought half of it. We requested smoked bacon from the pig and basically received uncured, unsmoked sliced pork belly that tasted like straight up booty. They allegedly sent the pork belly to Galesburg Meat Company for curing and smoking but neither had been done. S.B. would not make it right even after we submitted 3lbs of product for them to fry up and sample. They said that they doused it with salt and brown sugar and it tasted pretty good.The breakfast sausage was just as bad. Simply ground pork in a tube...no seasoning or spices. I wouldn't do business with them if they were the last butcher in the universe.The place should be called Smoke-N-Mirrors as good service is just an illusion.

Beef processed and only got some of it back. The weight did not come close to being right.. And the butcher, not meat cutter, said that he didn't know what to tell us.

John and his team have been taking care of my pigs and deer for years. Amazing work. Very good communicators. Quality work at an affordable price. I recommend them to all my friends with ease.

We have been using Smokin' Butcher for a few years for our chickens. They do a great job.
