I've been coming to this vet practice for several years and I have to say they are wonderful! My dog had surgery several months ago and Dr. Peet and her staff were amazing! They took the time to explain the procedure before and after and put me at ease knowing I was so worried about my dog having surgery. My dog actually likes coming here! Highly recommend!

Our pets were clients of Ford Road Animal Clinic, Inc. for over 10 years. For the most part I was very satisfied with their health care for El Guapo (dog) and Jax (cat). The last transaction with them was the one that drove my family my to switch veterinary services. It made think that maybe they overcharged me over the years. We never questioned the prices, because we trusted them to give us excellent service and prices. El Guapo has problems with his liver and requires special medication (Denamarin). On or about October 1, we picked up his medicine and paid for it ($83.45). Once we got home, we noticed that the bill was a bit more than what it was before but did not think too much of it. I assumed that maybe they got 2 boxes for us since it's a hard medication to find or because of the shortage of the medicine. It was when we opened the bag and found only 1 box. I went back to my records and noticed that other times we were charged much less. Then, I remembered that one previous time I bought the same medicine on their online pharmacy and decided to just check. I logged into their online pharmacy and found the exact same medicine at almost 40% less, they had it listed for $46.95. I sent them an email on October 1, hoping they would reach out to me about the discrepancy, waited for 10 days and did not get a response. On October 11, 2021, I emailed them again and did not hear back from them. After 10 years of what I thought was good service, I was forced to find another veterinary clinic for my pets. Now I wonder if they overcharged me over the years?!

Used to be the best in town (I've been to five different vets in the area); however, the level of professionalism and responsiveness has sadly declined over the last year. Dr. Peet is so kind, and she is great at what she does, but unfortunately the negatives of the office now outweigh Dr. Peet. I know they have been impacted by COVID, and my heart goes out to them, but it is still so important to take care of your patients. I've been trying to reach them all week for a medication refill for my senior cat, but have been unable to reach anyone. I've left four messages with no return call. He is now out of his medication, which is one that shouldn't be stopped abruptly, but I still can't reach them. Used to be so great, but I'd sadly advise you to look elsewhere.

Customer service at reception could be better. One receptionist has no sense of customer service or people skills.

Ford Road Animal Clinic, I am so disappointed in you. My cat has been on a vet prescription cat food for a year that is literary almost $50 a bag. Called them today because I need another bag.. Unfortunaly they will NOT give me a bag without seeing the vet because it's been a year. They won't even give me a small bag to get me through. Told them that is extremely unethical. I'm at a loss for words. I get it... It's a business, but they literally could careless. Told me to get some sensitive stomach food from the pet store. TRUST ME, if he could stomach it and keep it down, I would have been giving him the $20 cat food from the store. Needless to say, I WILL be going to a new vet from here on out. I'm so disappointed in you.

Completely unreasonable pricing, money hungry dr, absolutely does not give two s***s about your pets, and never bringing my fur babies here again.

This is not a place with drs who know what they are doing. They are all amateurs and before you even think of going, do NOT waste your money. You can do the work at home for the same amount of work they do. They are all money hungry and only think of what's going in their pockets rather than your pets health.

I'm torn in my review of Ford Rd Animal Clinic. I've been using them for about 14 yrs, or so. My pets usual vet at Ford Road Animal Clinic is Dr Lapshan, who is now only there two days per week. He also doesn't do surgery anymore. I'm not as inclined to visit the other vets there. The staff is really nice and Dr Lapshan is incredibly thorough but he likes to do lots of tests to rule things out, which can get costly and many Of the tests are probably unnecessary. The prices for these tests are about $50-$60 more than other places because I've called and asked. Overall, they are extremely more expensive than most vets. I've called to compare because they seemed high. I really like the staff but there have been two occasions where I had to see one of the other vets and the results were bad for my pet. Dr Lapshan would've never caused those things to happen. One vet claimed to be be good with exotic pets. My Gecko was sick so I took her here. I didn't see dr Lapshan. I saw the vet who "knew about exotic pets". The vet missed the growing infection in my geckos mouth which resulted in my 8 yr old gecko dying. The 2nd issue was with the same vet. I called to ask if one of my cats could take a mediation prescribed to my other cat and she said yes without looking at the chart. Turns out, this medication should not be taken if your pet has kidney or liver disease, which my cat suffers from kidney disease/failure. Now, his neurological balance is messed up. He can't walk, he cant even lift up his head. He's basically an invalid now because A: he shouldn't have had it at all but I was told he could take it and B: the dose was way too high. So, if the vet says I can do something I'm going to trust the answer they give is accurate but this same dr basically killed my cat. He now, has to be put down. He just lays here and pees himself. He can't walk even though he wants too, but his body won't comply with his brain. He was not like this before. He walked perfectly fine before the medication was given. So, the ONE dr is great but he's only there 2 days per week and wants to do an ungodly amount of tests. There's nothing wrong with being thorough but if they have an idea of what's wrong it would be nice to not be charged thousands of dollars to find out. The others I wouldn't trust. The last issue is a big one for me. One of my cats needs medication for an ongoing issue and needed medication that had to be ordered. They told me the cost was $45. After having them order it twice I saw on the receipt that there was a $25 fee. The actual cost of the meds were around $26 but they charged me a $25 fee for, what, I have no idea. Just for the sake of it, I guess. They never, not once told me there would be a $25 fee for having them order the meds, which I think may be illegal. That's what really gets me the most. They just charged it and never told me about it. They never gave me the option of ordering it myself. I called the pharmacy from where it was ordered and told them about the fee and they were extremely disappointed that they do this to their customers. I was also charged a $20 fee for a 2 minute phone call with the vet. Yep, I was charged $20 for a Two minute phone call. Twice they did it to me. The kickers to this is they slipped the fee into one of my pets visits and added it as if it was part of the treatment. They never informed me that there would be a fee for the vet to call with test results. They are deceptive, I feel, with their fees. They charge fees that no one else would charge and their prices are way higher than most places. So, it's up to you on what's more important. The good dr is only there twice a week and the prices are too high. I'm currently looking for a new vet. Good vets are hard to find but Yelp has helped and so has everyone with their reviews. Thanks for that. I hop

When we moved to Detroit from Chicago we were looking for a vet for our older dachshund and we just loved Ford Road animal clinic. The staff was so friendly and good with our dog that for the first time she wasn't anxious at the vet. We have since moved back to Chicago but try to schedule our dog's yearly appointments whenever we are in the area. Most recently we took our dog here for a dental. She's almost 11 now so we were nervous but DR. Peet gave us updates every step of the way. She called us right after to let us know that everything went well. Then they even sent us pictures as she was waking up. When we went to pick her up she happy, chipper and back to her old self. We'd highly recommend Ford Road animal clinic for all your vet needs.

We are brand new to Michigan so when our precious dog began limping we began asking strangers who they recommend. We were pointed to Ford Rd Animal Clinic. I was very surprised to get an appointment the same day. My dog is now on the road to recovery. The staff was friendly, knowledgable and truly cared. This is our new vet office! Their prices are also lower than the competitors.

We previously saw Dr. Heinhold and always had a great experience. This was my dog's first visit to this location which took over Dr. Heinholds patients. My dog was fine in the waiting area, ok with the technician who put us in the room, but after waiting a bit, he barked at the vet ( once) when she entered the room because he was startled when she entered She immediately told me he was aggressive and insisted he wear a muzzle. The experience terrorized my dog and i felt the vet couldn't wait to have us out of the office. She spent 5 minutes with us to give my dog 2 shots and i got a traumatized dog and a bill for $100 + Everyone else in the office was very kind Perhaps just a bad day for her but we will go elsewhere.
