I called on a whim to order a pizza as it's been 100 years since I've had a slice. It was a beautiful evening as the last day of winter 2021 was coming to a close. Even tho it was after 4. Mark still had the oven on. Luckily for me as I was coming up fr Petoskey. He was happy to take care of my order, offered suggestions & said 5:30 was the best he could do. I was fine w/ that since I took my time enjoying our beautiful scenery here in Emmet Co. I'm pretty sure he was alone @ the store, tho it was steady w/ customers. I came in & he pretty much dropped what he was doing ( others patiently waited) cut my packaged & rang me up. He let me know, cash only since the C/C machine was down. I said no problem I have cash. Plus the store had numerous signs letting customers know. As I drove off I wasn't going to wait to dive in! It smelled amazing! Plus I was going to take the scenic drive back to P. Twn. I couldn't wait I drove to the Keller boat launch, enjoyed a couple slices & the view. But what really makes this post is that Mark called & left a voicemail ( since as us locals know cell service is sketchy!) to let me know prior that he couldn't take cash. W/ all going on in the world it's the little things that actually are big acts of customer kindness, that we are missing these days! I hope Mark see this! Thx again Stace

Cross Village General Store is must stop at the end of the famous Tunnel of Trees beginning in Harbor Springs, MI. A great destination ride for cyclists! They have everything you need to fuel your body and a different lunch special every day. Right across the street from Leggs Inn, you can't miss it. If you travel by car, it is also a gas station. Super staff and owners Jan & Doug. The owners are almost always there ready to help you and keep things running smoothly! They also sell spirits in case you run out. We go every year during our bike rides from Petosky! Give it a try!!

I went in for a pop and a candy bar, and only a pop and a candy bar. They impose a $5 minium credit card transaction, but also a $5 minimum DEBIT card transaction. That is against the rules for debit transactions for all networks. Besides the rules for minimums, with retailers being allowed to set up to a $10 limit, in this day and age it makes no sense to set a minimum on credit with most decent processor options not having a per transaction fee any longer (just a percentage, and a monthly fee). So if I go in and make a $2.50 purchase, and someone follows right behind me and makes a $7.50 purchase, the fees to the retailer are the same as if one person made a $10 purchase (not counting rewards/loyalty transactions). If they are still getting screwed by their processor like the old days, they need to complain or switch. It's not worth standing arguing with anyone. I just put my stuff back and drove down the road to the next place.
