In the Spring of this year, I was having issues with the acceleration my car. I took it to busbees to get the timing chain replaced as that was the diagnosis by my mechanic friends. I had a warranty on the vehicle and want to take advantage of that. Busbees contacted with a quote of $3000 for the repair, but the warranty company should pay for everything but the fluids replacements. I told them to go ahead with the repair. Busbees reach out a few days later to tell me that the warranty company was only going to cover $800 of the repair, and I would have get the rest. They also informed me that a piece of the timing chain was dropped into the oil pan. That repair was going to be $1000 on top of the already expensive repair. Prior to bringing my car in to busbees, there was not rattle in the engine. It was just having a difficult time accelerating. I couldn't afford the whole repair, so I told them to do the minimum repair possible. The repair costed me $450 and left me with a rattle in my engine that could be damaging the engine components. I wouldn't go to busbees for anything more extensive than an oil change.Service: Engine repair

To save me typing…. Here is the bad review I gave to Betten Baker. You will understand my good review of Busbee’s after reading it.Been taking my Jeep here a long time. Use to be a women who worked the desk, she was awesome. In September a new guys started, have had problems ever since and now will not return there ever again. Brought the Jeep in cause it was making a clanging noise and vibrating. They couldn’t recreate the issue or find anything wrong. Of course they did charges $60 to tell us that though. They said the tie rod was loose but likely not what we were experiencing. The following week we brought it in to have the tie rod fixed. Later that day they called and said it more than that. Apparently some pin needed to be replaced and without any other complications it would be $1,700. Oh yeah, we were also still hearing the clanging and feeling the vibration. They said that they still didn’t and made me feel stupid about it. When my wife went to pick it up, cause we weren’t paying $1,700. They told her the gas tank was about to fall out and that the whole underside was rusted out and we should sell it and then proceeded to try to sell her a car. We took it from there right over to Busbee’s. He fixed the gas tank and said if the pin and tie rod needed replacement it would be $1,100. Now I expect dealerships to be more expensive but here is the worse part. He checked it and said the tie rod was tight, the pin was fine and the under side was fine, none of what they said needed to be replaced did. He did find that the lower ball joints were really bad. So bad that he could grab and shake the tire. Now why couldn’t Betten Baker find that. He said that was likely what was causing our issue. He fixed it for $450. So Betten Baker wanted to charge us $1,700 to replace things that didn’t need to be replaced and not fix the issue while Busbee’s charged us $450 and fixed the issue. We will never be back, not even for an oil change.
