DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU! I buy four Grizzly pouches weekly at the 110 W Commerce rd., 7-Eleven. I purchase four at a time because with 7-Eleven Rewards points, I get 50 cents off each for the first two cans and $1.50 off for the third and fourth cans. This makes the price one of the lowest in the area, especially with the rewards points discount. That’s why I shop at this 7-Eleven (Commerce Twp.). The posted price for Grizzly pouches has been $6.26 throughout 2024. However, today I noticed the final price was $27.77, even with the Rewards discount.
As I left the store, it seemed odd. With a 6% sales tax and a $2.50 Rewards discount for four cans, the total should be under $25. I returned to the store later and took a picture of the tobacco section. The cashier stopped ringing up customers and approached me, asking why I was taking pictures. I explained that I would talk to him after he helped the other customers, not wanting to hold up the line. He refused to assist others and insisted on knowing why I was taking pictures without his permission. I refrained from arguing and only took three pictures of the wall.
When it was my turn, I apologized for not asking permission and deleted one picture in front of him to ease the tension. However, he avoided eye contact, so I didn't delete the other two. I asked for the same four cans of Grizzly, and the total was again $27.77 with the Rewards discount and sales tax. When I questioned the price, the cashier nervously said his uncle changes the price every Monday night, and now it’s $7 per can. Since today is Tuesday, I assumed he hadn’t updated the wall price overnight and reluctantly accepted his explanation.
Driving home, I realized this was wrong. It is unethical for a business to knowingly overcharge customers. Even if the price increased the night before, they should inform customers about the change and allow them to decide whether to proceed with the purchase. This practice is fraudulent, and businesses like this should be called out and held accountable.
UPDATE! When I got home, I checked recent transactions from 7-Eleven, where I usually buy Grizzly pouches. To my surprise, the store has been charging $27.77 since May 5th! My AMEX statement shows 7-Eleven charges of $27.77 on June 12, June 7, June 1, May 24, May 19, May 13, and May 5th. However, on April 28th, the charge was $24.54. Clearly, the cashier lied about his uncle changing the price the previous night—this higher price scam started after April 29th! How many people have been scammed without their knowledge? What other items are being listed at lower price and charged higher when you cash out?
I reported this to 7-Eleven customer service and requested a resolution. They asked for the cashier's name, which I didn't remember at the time, so I went back to the store to get it.
When I walked into the store, the cashier was nowhere to be seen, and the pricing for the tobacco section was removed. They must have received a call from customer service. The cashier eventually came out of the office, looking unhappy to see me.
When I approached the cashier, I mentioned that customer service had asked for his name. He pulled his name tag toward my face with a snarky expression and said, "KHURAM." I calmly asked why he lied about his uncle changing the price previous night. He didn't respond, so I showed him my AMEX statement with the 7-Eleven transactions. He acknowledged the $27.77 charges and motioned like, "So what?"
I reminded him he said the price changed the previous night, which was untrue. He got irritated, raised his voice, and said he didn't have time for this, motioning for the next customer. I asked again why he lied. He repeated he didn't have time for this and told me to do whatever I had to do. I asked if he should apologize for overcharging me, which set him off. He yelled at me to leave and said he

Customer service is terrible I had to reach across the counter to get my drink that I paid for since the employee had it next to him after scanning it. Told the guy to have a nice day and got an attitude right as I walked out the door. This is one of the worst 7-11s in the area. Smells dirty and never a friendly face from the staff. Every time I come here it always stinks. This will be my last time as there are plenty of other options in the area.

I got to know the owner and the employees very well after working at this 7Eleven and they are the most nicest people I've ever met and they became family to me. I hope before anyone posts another review on how rude the employees takes into consideration that they might be tired and people could be rude to them all day as well especially if it

It’s one thing if you’re going to charge inflated prices because you’re a convenience store, but your refrigerators don’t even cool the drinks to a cold temperature.what is *convenient* about paying extra for a drink that isn’t even cold? I have visited twice and on both occasions the drinks were pretty much warm. If somebody were to purchase dairy products this improper temperature hold would probably make them hazardous to consume.

The lady at the register was very sweet, however, as I was grabbing some drinks in the back I asked the man stocking if he had an additional (only 1 in the row), muttering under his voice... had to ask him two more times before he sighed and finally replied. "I don't know, I don't know." He was 3 FEET away from the stock door leading to the fridge.. to top it off there's some nasty stuff flying around back there in the cooler, could be BLACK MOLD or CIGARETTE ASH. Never going back again, if you don't want to help someone, then don't work service. If 0 stars was an option I would have picked it.

I was the first person to the counter and it took them 10 minutes to come to the counter and check me out, btw there were 2 people working, who knows what they were doing in the back a massive line built up in the store and lots of customers were waiting and annoyed.

For being such a great spot you think they would have better customer service. I asked for my receipts and got an attitude. Told him have a nice day and next time try to smile. ?♀️

This is the most disgusting and poorly managed 7-11 I have ever seen. The coolers don't work half the time, everything is dirty, and your shoes will stick to the floor. The employees seem lackadaisical, and are often standing around instead of checking out queuing customers. I've waited more than 15 minutes for just a few customers to spend a few dollars apiece in front of me- solely due to how slow they are. There's another 7-11 a few miles south -if it's on your way, then stop there instead.
