We love Kimball animal hospital! The staff is so amazing, the prices are fair and affordable, and they are all very well educated. I know my cats are in the best hands here.

I can’t praise Kimball Animal Hospital enough! As a pet parent of a reactive and high anxiety dog, I have often worried about vet visits in the past. But the team here goes above and beyond, and are extremely responsive and kind. They not only answer my millions of questions patiently but also tailor their approach to my dog’s unique needs. From minimizing stress triggers, to creating a soothing atmosphere, to giving my babies affection and love like they are their own, every visit I have had has been a positive experience. Thank you to everyone at Kimball!

I just switched to this vet since my other one was 45 minutes away, and I didn’t always have the best or consistent experiences at that one. But Kimball’s was such a nice experience! I have a reactive dog and immediately felt accepted and cared for. They worked with my dog and his behavior and were super kind and patient. I’m so glad I decided to make the switch!

When my cat developed an issue with his eye, they saw him immediately and resolved the issue. They were so good with him. You can tell they really care about the animals.

I have three dogs and two cats and we have been looking for a new vet. We recently got a new puppy from a family that couldnt care for it anymore and we wanted to get a spay/neuter and shots and make sure he’s healthy. They require a 75 dollar deposit due to too many no shows for appts from other clients. I mean that is horrible for them business wise, but that’s a lot of money for an appt deposit and I have never been there before so how do I know we will even like them? I feel like me a new client is being punished for other peoples errors. The person conversing via email was curt and unfriendly, so I’m not too shocked they have no call no shows. I have decided I will go elsewhere because they don’t seem very animal or human friendly. There are many many great vets out there that are way more friendly and cost effective.

We love Dr. Rivas and the entire team at Kimball Animal Hospital. Over the years they have provided excellent, thorough, and very compassionate care for our four dogs. Dr.
Rivas and the Kimball team have been there for us in the happiest of times (introducing a new pup!) and in the saddest of times. When one of our dogs was diagnosed with a sudden, terminal cancer, Dr. Rivas was incredibly patient and kind, explaining over and over again what was happening, answering our many questions, reviewing treatment options, and providing guidance when it was time to make the most humane yet heartbreaking decision.
We are always greeted and welcomed very warmly when we arrive for appointments. I particularly like that we never wait long in the waiting area with other animals; the staff is sensitive to move you and your pet into an exam room quickly in order to keep stress levels as low as possible. We have experienced top-notch, comprehensive and efficient care at every appointment, delivered with much kindness; we have never felt rushed or that our concerns were dismissed in any way.
I recommend Kimball Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a wonderful veterinary clinic to care for their beloved pet!

Thank you to the amazing staff at kimball who helped save the lives of my two baby bunnies. This Veterinary Hospital is truly amazing and definitely know what they are doing. They took on me and my baby bunnies when no one else was willing to! Thank you kimball for saving my babies lives! You guys are the best and I will only continue to come to kimball!

Very friendly staff. I've had to bring one of my dogs in for emergency visits on Saturdays (when they're always really busy) and they've always been able to work me in.
Update 8 years later: I have been a lot over the past few years with all of my other pets (2 dogs and 2 cats) for regularly-scheduled visits and Dr Rivas and the rest of the staff have always been great. I especially appreciate the detailed answers he gives me for all od my questions and the follow-up calls they give after some pets have had minor surgeries or medical treatments beyond the normal vaccinations.

We just switched to Kimball Animal Hospital, my only regret is that I didn't switch years ago. They have the most amazing staff. They did everything in their power to make my anxious dog feel relaxed and safe! It was the best experience we've had at the vets!! Thank you!!

I am a veterinarian that no longer practices clinical medicine. My family lives in Royal Oak and we just got a new puppy—since I no longer have a hospital to take my pets to, I didn’t hesitate to bring my dog (Fig) to Kimball. Excellent standard of care, up to date and clean facilities, appointment availability and well-trained and pleasant support staff—can’t ask for much more!

We are so happy to have found Kimball Animal Hospital! We were frustrated with our current vet so we took one dog to another vet, and the other to Kimball. Kimball was by far the best out of the three! They are reasonably priced, point out that you, as the dog owner, have choices in treatments, medications, etc. We weren't made to feel like bad "parents" if we opted for choosing a less aggressive path. The staff is terrific, always friendly and helpful (even when I ask dumb questions lol), and the visit was on time with no long waits! Dr. Witherell is a very knowledgeable vet and really good with our dogs. To sum it up, the whole place made us feel like like they were all there because they are animal lovers first and foremost, and that they love what they do.
