This shop rebuilt a 2.3 L Ford Lima engine for me. It went into a sand rail. It runs like a Timex. Thank you, thank you, thank you to the experienced engine builders at D&S. Way to go!

I regret not taking my vehicle to Michigan Motor Exchange. Like the other reviewers warned, this place will scam you out of WAY,WAY more money than they originally quote you. Remember this if you still choose to do business at this old and outdated shop . They will rip you off and their warranty is a joke.

Went for a consultation about a job needed for my vehicle. Very smart polite and well informed/knowledgeable individual. Told me a few things I didn't know and needed to. Will update this depending on what happens in the near future.??

Mike and his team rebuilt the engine in my muscle car the right way. It runs great. Just a bunch of guys who knows engines. It costs me, but I have confidence my engine was done right!

Dropped off my engine block and crank to be cleaned, balanced and inspected on April 10th. The guy behind the counter told me it would be "a few days" and would not tell me a price to wash, balance and inspect. Instead, he made me put down $200 upon drop off and we would "find out after they had a look". I called once a week for 4 weeks and every time I was told that they were about to get to it and they would call me back the next day. I never received a single call from them. When I called on the 4th week they told me no one had looked at it yet, but as soon as I said I was going to pick it up as is they put me on hold for about 20 seconds and came back to tell me I needed to bring in my pistons because the block needed to be honed (I guess it takes 20 seconds to break out the bore gauge and inspect 6 cylinders). I told them I was coming in to pick it up anyway and they felt it was appropriate to keep $150 of my $200 down for washing and "inspecting" the block and gave my block back in worse shape than when I dropped it off. As far as I am concerned this place owes me $150 and has wasted a month of my time.

I had a vehicle that was not all that old, but out of warranty, and the engine blew. D & S explained to me the type of engine they replaced my blown motor with. It has been over a year now and is running strong. I greatly appreciate it, especially when it comes to spending this type of money.
