I took my golden retriever puppy here Friday because she had massive swelling in her face and neck. They told me they would likely have to give her a steroid injection and keep her for at least an hour to make sure the swelling goes down. They sat me in a room for over 2.5 hours and not a single person came in to fill me in as to what was going on. I asked the front desk for an update 3 hours later… they were rude and went to check. Well the Vet finally came in and said she wanted to run some tests cause it might be xyz. Said it would take close to an hour. Two more hours later she finally came back with a diagnosis. They didn’t do anything for her besides run a couple tests the 5 hours we were there!!! They wanted to charge me almost $300 for medication (antibiotics and steroids) which I was able to get at my primary vet and other a couple other things too for less than $60.
$500 later and they still sent my baby home swollen and in pain!!! I will NEVER take my babies here again.

I took my dog in because I knew she had an ear infection,it got so bad she lost her balance and couldn't stand so I took her here and it's $165 to walk in and then the vet comes out and says her ear infection is not the cause he swears it's Marijuana and he wants to charge $65 for a drug test.I refused and told him there was no way and he was insisting.I told him just give her ear drops for her infection and I finally got her back since they wanted to keep her overnight.Took her home and after second dose of eardrops she was fine!I'm so glad I stuck to my gut

These people are a bunch of crooks and liars! We brought our dog in because she had some labored breathing and short breaths . Upon arrival they instantly put a sheet out to sign that approved $1100 worth of care . We told them that we could give them a 900 dollar budget but we just wanted an exam . They tell us her o2 levels are normal . Fast forward 3 hours . They come out and finally tell us x rays look fine and she’s in an oxygen crate and her breathing is fine (they didn’t mention this tank, for a dog with “perfectly normal o2 mind you) is $90 an hour . So they start trying to push us to apply for a care credit card so they can keep her overnight . We tell them that if her breathing is okay and her x rays are fine we’ll just take her back home and go to her primary vet tmrw then . They start getting really snarky like we’re bad owners or something after JUST SAYING THE BREATHING IS NORMAL NOW! Fast forward another 2 hours after saying she would be out of the tank in 5 minutes because they’re “weening” her off o2 and they say okay so your total for today is $450. We say perfect and sign the discharge . They say she’ll be right out . Fast forward ANOTHER hour . They bring out another discharge and say so the total for today is actually 850 now . Me and my wife look at each other flabbergasted because we both heard and witnessed the exact same thing ! Upon finally receiving our dog back her breathing was perfectly normal after they just got done telling us now her breathing is weird and she should stay all night in the tank ? this place doesn’t know what they’re doing at all and will attempt to milk you for every penny you’ll allow plus some given an opportunity. I would STRONGLY recommend you find another hospital no matter the drive . We should have read the other reviews but I figured many of the bad reviews were likely grieving owners in a tough spot and that is understandable but we are not grieving .

This place will not go over specifics when asking for four more grand after doing an emergency surgery and not explaining what happened to the dog then asking for more money and gave you the ultimatum of this either works or we have to put the dog down. To not go over what happened during this procedure is unacceptable

Our 14 year old dog suddenly became ill. We took him to the vet where he was diagnosed with fluid around his heart. We had to make the heartbreaking decision to end his suffering. The vet ran tests to confirm the diagnosis and she was very caring and compassionate. I would recommend this vet if you have an emergency.

I would not recommend Advanced Animal Emergency of Clinton Township. I brought my daughter's cat in early in the morning after he suddenly started having significant trouble breathing. When we arrived, we called the reception, and they took us inside. The receptionist took the cat to see the veterinarian while we waited in a small room for the results. The vet, who was knowledgeable, informed us that the condition was incompatible with life. She asked if we wanted to be present for the euthanasia, and I said yes. However, she later returned and told us that because they couldn't place an IV catheter, they would need to insert a needle directly into his heart, meaning we couldn't be present. We were allowed to see him in an oxygen chamber, but everything was happening so fast that I was in shock and very emotional. Afterward, we were taken to the front desk, where the receptionist spoke rapidly, mentioning we were already at $415. She stated that there were additional charges for cremation and other services ($135, as well as another fee that I cannot recall.) She spoke so quickly that my husband missed what the cost would be. She then abruptly passed a paper to me to sign. I asked for a cost breakdown because I couldn't process everything in that moment. As I stood there, my anxiety and sense of loss was rising. I have never left a beloved member of the family alone to die. I verbalized my feelings regarding this and with the cost. The receptionist said nothing in response. I reiterated that I wanted a cost breakdown (posted with review.) We ultimately chose to have him returned to us in a dignity bag. I immediately left the building, overwhelmed by how rushed and thoughtless the whole process was. Later, I tried to contact the office manager. The receptionist who answered the phone placed me on hold after I asked to speak to the office manager. On her return to the phone, she advised the office manager's name is Jamie. She then refused to provide any information about when Jamie would be available or even a time to call back. She stated that the office manager does not have a direct line nor semblance of a work schedule. She was very rude. I am leaving this review as I do not want any other family to have an experience like this. Losing a beloved pet is heartbreaking, but the manner in which, this was handled was abysmal. I am crushed that I was not able to be present when my daughter's cat passed.

They are the best here. I wish they could be our normal vet and not just for emergencies. Over the years, my dogs went there a few times each and every time we went, they were wonderful! Nothing bad to say about this place, highly recommended.

I went here a few years back when my dog was attacked by another dog. And I can say I did not have a good experience the staff seemed very condescending and judgmental towards my partner and I. Nor did they show any compassion and they were not willing to answer our questions throughly. I 100% believe it had a lot to do with race. So if you’re a POC beware!

I wouldn’t recommend this place even to the stray dogs and cats in the alleys. I took my dog here when he was attacked by another dog. They were completely neglectful and oblivious to me and my dog’s needs. The service felt rushed even when we were asking questions about aftercare. They didn’t show me how to clean the wound or any tips to help him relax. We also had to come back just so they could redo the stitches. Luckily, my baby boy is a trooper! We ended up going to Banfield and they were far more helpful. Please, if you love your fur pets don’t bring them here.

Our dog was attacked by another dog and seriously injured. The staff were caring, helpful, and took excellent care of her and us. We were lucky that there was no waiting, which also means no other pets were seriously hurt or ill. I appreciate this hospital.

Just wanted to say thank you so much for everything. The staff and the Veterinarian were so wonderful. The diagnostic testing that was performed helped us make a tough decision once we got home. I simply cannot put into words how grateful I am to the staff and Vet who assisted me.
Jethro was peacefully euthanized at home this morning. I would definitely recommend your facility to friends and family.

Neglectful in life and death situations.
Rude staff who did little to answer our questions.
They keep dead dogs in the laundry room.

This place absolutely deserves five stars. They have saved two of my dogs lives three years apart. Both times my pets needed immediate care and they really know how to triage the animals coming in based on what they need. They are affordable and so kind. While your pet is in their care you can call whenever you want and they are more than happy to tell you how your pet is doing and what kind of care they’ve received since the last time you called. No other emergency vet anywhere close to Macomb County can compare to them. I hope I never have to see them again but if I do, I know my pet will be in the best hands. You guys are so appreciated and an office like this is hard to find.

I wanted to put no stars, but it forced me to put one they do not even deserve any at this place!!!!!!!!
They Caused the death of three of my perfectly healthy kittens I now only have one left
To all my other pet parents I just want to raise awareness to this animal Hospital. I went here because I thought maybe my baby girl had been poisoned or something come to find out she had some kind of infection, mind you she had just had four kittens on July 27. They were just under three weeks old. Everything had been fine up until we went here. The babies were with us at the office so they knew that she was a nursing mother. They continued to prescribe her medication (clavamox) that was lethal to the babies and now three of four have now passed away because of this! I asked them if it was okay for her to continue nursing they stated that it was and after asking them twice if it was safe for her to nurse, both times being told yes she nursed them and now after costing $687 and the lives of three of her kittens they deny the medication had anything to do with their deaths DO NOT BRING YOUR FURRY FAMILY MEMBERS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANIMALS AND THEIR VETERINARIANS CLEARLY ARE POORLY EDUCATED
I feel like I’ve let my babygirl down she’s the victim in all of this yet doesn’t understand any of it ?☹️
Please spread the word about this place hopefully it will save your pets life in the long run♥️

We had to take our 1 year old boxer here after he had complications from getting neutered. The staff was very kind and helpful and got him in immediately. He did require surgery and the doctor was very thorough and explained everything to us clearly. Surgery and medications are always going to be expensive, but it was less than we were anticipating and they had different options available to help pay overtime. Hopefully we won’t need anymore emergency vet visits, but if we do this will definitely be the place we come back to.
