We have recently joined the Goddard School and wish we would have done so sooner. Our daughter has transitioned very smoothly and the staff is wonderful.

I had a bad experience at this school. Most teachers do not have technical knowledge in pedagogy to care for children. They do not contribute to children’s socio-emotional development. My daughter, after being at home without school for a week, returned to school, she was crying a lot when I left her on the teacher's lap, she simply put her on the floor and left her crying. I saw my daughter in the corner of the room crying desperately, while there were 3 teachers in the room and they all ignored her. They did absolutely nothing to console her. This had happened other times, I talked to management, but it was of no use. If they were able to do that while I was there, I wonder what could have happened away from me. As a mother now I just want to warn other mothers who want to send their children there, I do not recommend this school to anyone under any circumstances.

My daughter has been going here for almost a year now and I am very pleased with Goddard. I disagree with the previous negative comments as far a customer service. These teachers and workers are all working very hard and I appreciate it very much.

To whoever reads this,I want to start with I am not a teacher and I am not a parent of any of the children that work at this location.I'm actually a boyfriend of one of the teachers to start. I have not heard any good things from this location when it comes to employee treatment and I will not be naming any particular teachers besides my girlfriend formally known as Brandy Freeman. My main issue has to deal with her treatment, who is carrying our child and is, as of this message, 16 weeks pregnant. I found her feedback troubling of the workplace environment for someone who is pregnant, someone who requires a different level of scrutiny or care.I have an issue with the fact every time Brandy brought it to my attention, she needed a break it was not given, she relayed to me she would require to punch out for 15-minute breaks which is not a requirement because it is not even a lunch break; I would, however, like to appreciate the tolerance the school dealt with when Brandy had surgery done for her stomach ulcer on top of her appointments to see her OB doctor. She had many absences in that time, that also gave reason for her requiring breaks which to my understanding, even though she was not "Full time" a 15-minute break to cook a 3-minute packet of ramen for a small meal would assist greatly.I don't work for the department of labor in Michigan, speaking of which I was informed about an incident of teachers being harassed and bullied for not being invited to something as simple as a baby shower! That was a personal option, teachers not invited had no business bullying others into submitting to questioning as to why they were not invited. If you were not invited, you were not invited, simple. The attitude that followed from some of the office managers seems to be the prime example for the bullying.I don't work for the state either and when it comes to hearing about a message that is spread to hide activities or to be on your best behavior just say "Popcorn" and everyone ducts and covers to be good. I do not see this as professional behavior when it comes to observance of the duties the school says they are doing when it comes to the state doing a walkthrough. They have every right to observe fully what the teachers and staff are doing fully with no cover ups. As a future parent, I would be appalled hearing this.

My Child is shy and the teachers for mouths had given her special attention to get her acclimated. Everyone is professional and cordial. I feel like my child is loved when she is dropped off.Great experience thus far.

I decided to check out this school upon the glowing reviews I heard from friends and neighbors who had their children and or grandchildren attend previous years. I went and toured the school and it appeared to be a great fit. But “all that glitters is not gold”!! The owner is nice and Admin/front desk people were always pleasant. But teachers were subpar to say the least. They were immature, unprofessional, don’t know how to communicate and lacked compassion for the children. I even overheard on more than one occasion, a teacher yelling at the kids when picking up my child. Also, as a whole the school needs to communicate better when things are going on within the school. For example, whether it’s announcement for picture day, spirit week, or illness has the potential to be spreading around the school. As parents we are busy heading to work, etc. and may not have the time to stop and read what’s on the wall(s) of the school. In cases I mentioned above the school should be sending out emails to parents not just sheets of paper posted around the school. Because by the time a parent may have the time to slow down and read it maybe too late. All in all, this was my experience and believe there are better schools to choose from in the Plymouth-Canton area.

I came in for a tour at this school about a week before I planned to enroll my 1 year old- I was still shopping around for a quality daycare center and I wanted to weigh my options. Unfortunately, my experience here was not like those who left reviews before me. The initial tour was fine for the most part (Jen, who I believe is the director, gave the tour). She wasn't very enthusiastic but she also wasn't rude or anything, but I assumed she had had a long day and with how crazy things are with COVID, I didn't think too much of it. She gave me an application and a health appraisal sheet (along with the school's brochure) to take with me, but she never gave me a price sheet nor she didn't offer to at least write the rates down for me. She pulled out a price sheet on a clipboard and told me I could copy down the rates myself or take a picture. I didn't think that was very accommodating or "customer service friendly" but I just took a picture of the rates and called it a day. Finally, when I called back a few days later to let her know that I wanted to enroll my son, Jen answered, and I asked her if there was anything else I needed to bring along with the application. This time, she was very short with me and made it very clear that she had no interest in answering any of my questions. I had to ask her three follow-up questions just to get simple information/clarification about the registration process. When I finally asked her if they still had a space for my toddler, she actually 'sighed' into the phone and paused for about 7-10 seconds before saying "yes" with an attitude. It's unfortunate because I was really looking forward to my son attending Goddard (this particular location since it's closest to home). As a person of color, this was a very unwelcoming experience, overall. However, maybe this happened for a reason. If she treats a prospective parent like that, I wouldn't want my baby there.

We love Goddard school. Our 18 month old daughter has been going there for 3 months and she has learned so much. She loves to go to school. The teachers are great and Carl the owner is very nice.

My family and I love this daycare! The owner, Carl is such a nice man and very accommodating. I got the sense that he truly cares about all of the children who attend his facility and he cares a lot about their safety. In fact, all of the staff is very helpful and friendly. My son loves going there. Sometimes I will call and check in on him and Ms. Ashley and Ms. Michelle have always been so sweet and helpful. I would absolutely recommend Goddard School in Canton.

We send our 4 year old here, he has been coming for a little over a year. We were debating between here and a Montessori school. The proximity to our house made this choice better but we haven't had any regrets. We enjoy the teachers. Our son initially didn't like coming to school and ultimately now that he has friends, he doesn't mind. Carl does a great job running the program. As far as education goes, it has some structure. Our son now holds a crayon and pencil correctly. He isn't advancing fast with writing or reading, but my wife tells me that I just don't know what a four year old should be able to do :) My favorite part of this place is the sense of community I get. Our son has gone to many birthday parties and we've gotten to know a group of parents. They know my son and we've gotten to know the other kids and have been able to set up playdates and such.

My son and daughter, both have been attending The Goddard School in Canton and their experience has been remarkable. Mr Carl is very accommodating and will work with you keeping the child's interest as primary. All the teachers in the different classes are easy to work with. I would definitely recommend this school.

I really loved taking my kids here. The place had a very safe feeling, kinda like family. Carl is awesome and its good to see a familiar face there everyday. The classrooms are divided well and it really seems like they keep the kids busy with various activities. Most of the kids look very disciplined. Teachers are easy to interact with and talk to. Would definitely recommend.
