It's one of the cleanest ones that I've ever been to it just blows my mind that they are charging way over the price... 99% of the stuff there you could most likely by brand new for cheaper than what the salvation army is charging! And then on top of it it's supposed to help people in need. ??♂️

I shop At Salvation Army because I have to. Not necessarily because I want to.
In the last few years their prices have soared.
One worker said they are not allowed to price ANYTHING below $1.99. The Salvation Army on Plymouth road in Livonia won’t price anything below $2.99.
I periodically find items priced more used than when they were purchased brand new.
Case in point…see photos….so this is what the Salvation Army has come to, a 50% mark up!
I used to purchase kids clothes and bric brac items for under a dollar!
What happened, INFLATION?
It’s a sad state of affairs when you can buy items brand new at a retail store cheaper than what the Salvation Army is charging!!!

It saddens me how badly this store has changed. I used to go here multiple times a week. But I can't justify wasting my time and gas just to be charged an arm and a leg for DONATED goods. Imagine getting free donations from the community and then charging that community prices higher than eBay or Facebook marketplace. An absolute tragedy what this place has become.

Spacious so lots of items for sale. Prices are a bit high considering this stuff was donated free. Strong smell by the changing area made me gag.

I will never again donate to this place. Ive waited in their long lines several times only to be treated like garbage by their employees collecting my donations. They rarely say hello or even thank you to what we’re dropping off so I’m done. There are plenty of other places that would gladly accept our items.

Sad. This used to be a great thrift, but the prices are high and climbing higher, broken, chipped, stained, cracked - doesn’t matter. And they even “went green” so they no longer offer bags, you can grab a random donated box and hope for the best since they rarely offer to wrap anything. Sorry, Salvation Army, nothing thrifty about your store. It looks and smells like a thrift store, but you won’t find thrift store prices here. Crazy!

Waited 40 minutes and still didn’t get to donate. I left because there were still 5 cars in front of me

You have to be kidding me right? These are .88¢ in the store RIGHT NOW. Why would anyone pay $2.99 a can at Sal? Please stop over pricing everything. You're losing your daily shoppers.... This is sickening.

First time at this Salvation Army and I will not waste my time to comeback. Waited in line for a dressing room. 3 were locked and closed for some reason. Very dirty. Selection was not good. Crowded.

The prices are out of control here. Greedy managment and pricing. Let's all remember - everything they receive is free. Whatever price they put on it, they are making 100% profit because the cost was nothing. What does Salvation Army actually do to help the community? Besides just taking advantage of the disadvantaged, I'd really like to know. This used to be a great store for everyone to shop at. Now, it's a trash filled boutique. The prices are not this bad anywhere else. Even the newly renovated Plymouth Road location isn't this bad. You have furniture that nobody wants that has been sitting for months! Some pieces of furniture have been there since January (it's almost March now), and even at the "discount" nobody wants it because it's still too expensive!!! And also, don't you love it when they write the price in permanent marker on everything - ruining vintage and antique items. Gotta love it. Just put some tape on it like other stores!!! Why do you have to damage items in the process, while you're already charging obscene amounts for FREE donated goods. What is the actual reason that prices are so high now? Where is this money going? It certainly isn't going to this community, or even towards a desperately needed renovation. This place is a big heaping steaming pile of disappointment and frustration. Keep on losing customers. Take your donations elsewhere!!! Somewhere that actually serves the community. Literally any other thrift store in this area would put your donations to a better use.

This month the prices went up 112%. I bought an item in Summer for 7.99 and donated it. Same day on the floor for 16.99. Shame on you folks. And Why are cookbooks marked special priced. All books should be the same.

To expensive! Not quality items! Items at thrift stores and good will a lot cheaper! Hope they are really helping the community with the money!
