About Calumet Colosseum
Calumet Colosseum is a historic ice arena built in 1913, making it the oldest operating rink in North America. Known as the birthplace of American Hockey, it is filled with photos, artifacts, and memorabilia from the last century and early hockey days. Visitors can feel the rich history and enjoy watching hockey in this unique, landmark venue. While the rink itself is well-maintained, some plumbing issues with toilets and sinks persist. The upstairs ballroom adds to its usefulness, making it a popular spot for events and hockey enthusiasts.
What an incredible place...steeped in history, this place had so many awesome pictures, artifacts, and memorabilia from the last century and the early days of hockey. You could truly spend all day here! I would love to come see a game here sometime! If you love hockey, you need to visit!
