Southkent Vet, truly setting the gold standard for compassionate care—if by "compassionate" you mean squeezing every cent out of a pet owner before even pretending to care about the suffering animal in front of them. You’d think after six years of treating a dog for the same chronic ear infection, they'd at least try to help the poor thing in pain by calling in the medicine. But no, apparently the new management is all about "show me the money" before they even bother. “Sorry, we can’t help your dog until we see them first—it’s been a while.” Yeah, no kidding it’s been a while—because we thought you’d still remember the dog who's been in for the same issue repeatedly. But hey, it’s not like they're in the business of easing suffering or anything. I guess it’s all about what lines their pockets. It used to be very good place and now it is the complete opposite. So if your pet is hurting, find someone else. Because at Southkent, the only thing they seem to care about is the bottom line. Compassion? Don't expect any. oh, and one more thing, last time I was there this vet isn't very bog on hygiene AKA cleaning the rooms before the next animal/patient enters as the room I was pout had blood spills all over it and I had to sit in there keeping my dog away from until the doctor finally took their sweet to see the next patient/animal(our animal). inexcusable and unacceptable to leave patient waiting rooms with blood and grime all over the floor. the outside ground was cleaning than this place. However, you better not forgot to pay the piper when you need a prescription for a chronic illness, or they might just let your dog not see tomorrow. if you truly value your pet more than money Stay away form this place, please.... find a place that treats your animals humanely, before anything else in this field of work, which is to be a compassionate business before treating and lining their bank accounts first and foremost. All they have are bill collectors answering their phone over there. When a business who's in the field of cursing and compassion cares about money this much, you JUST have to question the quality of CARE!

I have been taking my dog to Southkent for years and have seen many doctors. I just recent had to take my senior dog in to make sure things were ok as she is not doing well. The technician, Emily, and Dr. Huffman were incredible. They answered all my questions..not only made sure to make my dog feel comfortable but me as well. Emily even helped me get my dog to my car. So caring and professional.

The staff are very, very caring and have taken exceptional care of our pets over the years. Sometimes it is hard to get quick appointments but they are busy for a reason.
Highly recommend.

I’ve been a loyal client of this veterinary clinic for many years, bringing both of my dogs here for their care. However, my recent experience has left me deeply disappointed and questioning my future here.
After receiving a bill of nearly $600 for a routine yearly check-up for one dog, I am shocked and frustrated. In the past, even with two dogs, I never encountered such a high cost. While I understand that prices have risen due to economic factors, this charge seems excessive for standard services.
To make matters worse, when I asked the technician for an explanation of the charges, she appeared nervous and was unable to provide clear answers, which only added to my frustration. I expect transparency and clarity, especially when dealing with such significant expenses.
I care deeply about my pet’s health, but this kind of pricing feels unjustified. Unfortunately, after many years of trusting this clinic with my pets, I am now considering finding a new vet who offers more reasonable pricing and better communication.
Attached is a copy of the bill for reference.

We've got an old guy and South Kent is sweet and gentle but thorough with him. Communication is open and they will get you in if they can, even if they're very busy.

Dr. Claire Stein is the best! Our dog Ellie came in for an annual checkup and she found a few things that required follow-up. Dr. Stein was so sweet, easy to work with, and thorough. Our Ellie girl is living her best life now. Love Southkent!

I've been taking my senior dog to Southkent since the beginning of 2024 and I've been happy with the staff and veterinarians there. They have been good communicators and thorough with any issues my dog has had. They are honest and knowledgeable and accommodating when I've needed to bring her in for a visit or fill a prescription.

This clinic seems to have gone downhill after new ownership. If you want to have personalized pet care, I would not recommend south Kent.
I recently just switched to a new veterinarian in cascade and I can’t believe the difference in care. I feel like I was constantly being left in the dark at SK with my dogs reoccurring allergies, as if there was never a solution. I hate to say it felt like a money grab there…but that’s what it seemed to be.
