In May I purchased a $4000 riding lawn mower from the store in Cadillac per my husbands request. A previous employee that assisted me was very helpful. 3 weeks ago I brought my push mover in to be worked on. I talked with the previous employee about what needed to be done which was oil change, new belt and belt cover/stripper ring that was damaged. I also asked to have those above mentioned parts ordered so when it was time to have it worked on the parts would be there. Time line given me was 2 weeks. On this last Sat. It was 3 weeks. When I called the part had not yet been ordered but I was given a summary of what was needed. I was told the spark plug was fouled out, the blades needed to be sharpened and it needed a new filter. I tried to explain that the machine starts on the first pull, I just bought a new blade that was used once before the belt came off and I had cleaned the filter before the last mow. However Annette would not hear it, she said I was questioning the integrity of her workers and said it would be best if I came to pick up the machine. Can a 68 year old female customer not mention what they know about their machine? My husband is unable to do lawn work so I do it. And yes Annette, I did tell you if I offended you in any way that I was sorry. My questioning was not directed at your mechanics I was merely voicing what I knew. You were very rude to me, as I noticed on some other reviews. This is a far cry from the Mission Statement of your grandfather of (continually striving to improve all aspects of the company for the customer). Whatever grievance you have towards the gentleman that helped me buy my $4000 mover does not give you the right to defame him to me on the phone with other employees and customers at your counter listening. This is not the (Lark Face) that was once known in the Cadillac community. Such a shame.

I wont ever do business with this company again. They are rude and disrespectful. They sold me the wrong part even though I gave them the correct information for the part I needed and even had the part with me and they gave me the wrong part. When I came back to exchange it for the right part they refused to exchange for the correct part. This is a very unprofessional company and way too expensive.

Took twice as long as they quoted for tune up on lawn mower. Kept calling and checking and was brushed off and told they'd call me back. Finally after 4 weeks they called wanting payment with no apology, no reduction in price. Nothing. General manager Annete was very rude and told me I could take my business elsewhere. She gave me every excuse as to why it took so long but completely missed the point. IF ITS GOING TO TAKE LONGER COMMUNICATE THAT!!! Will not be back and will not recommend to anyone! I should have read the reviews to begin with!

(Go support a different business!) Grandmother had them take her mower in for a belt replacement August 2023. They told her it would take about 2 weeks. Went to check on it after 4 weeks, and they hadn't even touched it. I had to track down the new owner online and call her to get them moving. Finally was finished after 6 weeks... 6 weeks for a belt.... Unprofessional, got irritated that I had the audacity to ask when it would be done after overshooting their own deadline by weeks.

Update to my earlier service issue with my chainsaw. Lark took over 3 weeks to "diagnose and fix" the issue with my saw. Paid $100 for repair (including up front required payment). 1st cut with the saw after Lark's "fix" and my problem reoccurred! Took the saw to Ebels! 15 min and $17 later my saw was fixed correctly and I have been using it without issue since. Problem...bad chain which Lark reinstalled and called it good! I am totally finished with Lark for either purchase of a new product or service of one of my other products.

Have had my chains for my chainsaws sharpened at larks for the last 4 years (at least 6 chains a week) always have Done a great job until recently first they tried to charge me 9 dollars a chain to be sharpened when it has always been 6 dollars I asked when and why the price changed I get no response just the price fixed back to 6 dollars a chain ok no problem fast forward to the next 2 times I have chains sharpened the chains cut horrible and have almost like an extra raker from the sharpening machine I take 4 chains back to be fixed and I'm told that this extra raker caused by the sharpening machine is normal (mind you I have been bringing 6 chains a week to theses people for the last 4 years and have never once had this happen to any of my chains)they take these 4 chains and "fix" them they look exactly the same I ask to speak to Charlie and he also tells me this is normal I have no idea what I'm talking about to not use his business anymore and called me a lier said I don't bring in 6 chains a week lol well next saw I buy will NOT be from them and I do go threw a saw almost every year.. and ace will get my weekly chain sharpenings from now on if larks would like to try and make it right I'll take 4 new chains for the ones I'll have to replace because there so far gone now there is no fixing these.. that's funny because ace seems to do just fine without making another raker in the chain lmao all good I took my business elsewhere and so will everyone else I tell not to go through you! going to run yourself right out of business!! Always an excuse of why the costumer is wrong and your right lol

The owner of this ‘family business’ refused to send a replacement part for a mower mulching kit that they incorrectly ordered for a $4000 mower I purchased new from them a month ago.The owner ( Lynette) was totally disrespectful and rude, in front of her staff ! (who was being quite helpful to me at the time). No wonder they are trying to hire employees ! but if they treat customers like they treated me I can understand why people would not want to work in this place either.I will for sure never do business in this place in future and I would warn all prospective customers to be warned by my review.I repurchased the part I needed within few hours of walking out in disgust from the shop and for less money and free shippingWhy would anyone need to shop in a retail store as bad as this when they can get exact same parts online. I try to support local family run businesses when and can but not if they treat their customers this way.

Years ago (2009) I bought a very expensive snow blower here, and had a great experience. Recently went back to the shop for a riding mower, and wow, have things changed! First, if you are a woman, don't bother going here; they act like you don't exist. I was there looking at mowers for at least 10 minutes with no one else in the store and the salesman never even acknowledged my presence! When I asked for help it seemed like I was bothering him. He was SUPER grumpy! Must have been having a bad day or something. When I asked for some help, it seemed that because I didn't want to buy the most expensive thing they had, he figured I was a waste of his time and literally turned his back on me when a MAN walked in. I guess my money wasn't good enough. Also, what's with the profanity on the flag in front of their store? It doesn't make the business or the town of Cadillac look very good. Did not buy there, will not be stopping in again. And ladies, don't bother, they don't think much of us at Lark Lawn & Garden.

I have been meaning to write this for some time, a friend's recent negative experience at Lark reinvigorated me to document my experience there. Bought a new riding lawn mower from Lark. Started having intermittent problems where apparently the unit would only run on one cylinder. Occurred within 10-20 minutes of operation and reoccurred twice during the next 10-11 hours of operation. I returned with it to Lark as the unit is "under warranty". I was informed I would be charged $30 dollars if they could not find a problem. I got into an argument over this as I was clearly sold a unit with a problem. The owner repeatedly explained that they had been in business a long time, and a car dealership would charge a customer under similar circumstances. She kept incriminated a possible dirty filter, if this was the reason then they sold it to be in this condition as the problem surfaced immediately. I reluctantly left the unit and the $30 dollar deposit. Further communication with Lark revealed that they could locate no problem but offered to perform scheduled maintenance on the unit ( oil and filter change). When asked the fee I was informed the fee would be less than $100 minus the deposit I already left. I authorized the service. Results, 1) Upon arrival- I was charged roughly $110. I believe this is called the bait and switch in the con world 2) The unit apparently was stored outside in the rain as water pouring off the under carriage when brought out. 3) The person attempting to load in on the trailer kept bottoming the deck out. This produced cosmetic damage, fortunately no structural damage. 4) Upon inspection at home I found the side panels had not been secured and would have been lost or run over by mower if used. 5) The fitting where oil is drained was loose and able to be spun with my fingers. Imagine what would have happened if this vibrated out. There is no more room to list the other issues I had. Beware.

I bring my small engine repair work here. Theyre a bit expensive, but do the job well. Update....sold me the wrong belt for my snowblower, ended up with having someone else fix it, cause I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. Anyways, good luck.
