I'm so disappointed, I brought my dog in Saturday 10/12/24 to Columbia Animal Clinic in Brooklyn Michigan, due to not eating, explained that he had eaten Zebra Mussels and threw some up. She did blood work which was good, so she treated him for a stomach bug, gave him a shot to ease his stomach (mind you he only threw up that one time). I called back as instructed on Monday morning, explained to the person who answered the phone the situation, that he was sicker and lethargic, they never called me back until the afternoon, said that no one could see him and there was nothing they could do, they suggested taking him to a 24 hour emergency. But they are our veterinarian. 35 hours later he was dead, we were in FL at this point and he had an appointment to the hospital, but didn't make it. When we took him on Wednesday morning to be cremated, we saw the Vet and explained the symptoms, and he informed us that Zebra Mussels are highly toxic and something should have been done on Saturday. I called Columbia on Wednesday afternoon and left a message for the Dr. and today a week later still have heard nothing from the Clinic, I'm so saddened by their lack of caring and their lack of investigation into Zebra Mussels, to help my poor dog. I will never return there for anything.

Brought my turtle here, staff was great and friendly, so glad they see aquatic animals. Thank you for the help. I personally would not have been able to stomach what she did.

My sweet girl had 2 torn acls ( not at the same time) that required surgery. She had a overnight stay. The staff text me twice on surgery day and 2 times the next day to let me know how she was doing. I was so appreciative for those texts. Really liked the drs and techs. They are wonderful.

We had to put down our little 16 year old doggie. Michelle and staff were so gentle and compassionate. They have a special, separate room for it with calm music, chocolate “goodbye kisses”, a pillow and doggie blanket on the floor, dog treats, comfortable chair, and even a couple books about saying goodbye to your dog. ? They talked us through everything they were going to do and were very tender to our little dog. You could tell they were genuinely compassionate. Included in the price of euthanizing is a nice little box with the dog’s paw print and name inside. ❤️?

They are great with my dog that has anxiety when going to the vet, she is getting better about it since going to this vet.
They are very patient and explain everything in detail.
I love the way they follow up and keep you posted during procedures.

We recently retired to the Brooklyn area and searched for a vet for our boys. After much research, and reading reviews, we settled on Columbia animal clinic. We are extremely satisfied with our choice. The entire staff there are friendly, professional, and competent. The tech, Ashley, made us feel at ease on our first visit, going over our boys lives and any issues thoroughly. Dr Engel's knowledge of this area and it's issues with insects, wild animals, and diseases was impressive. Relocating from another state, a pet owner needs to be made aware of the new conditions and issues in their area. We feel very confident in Dr Engel's ability to keep our boys in good health for years to come. I would not hesitate to recommend Columbia animal clinic to anyone who's pets are part of their family!

They take great care of my dogs, one who had some pretty major issues going on and they got him healthy again. The staff is great and you can tell they care about the animals
