UPDATE:emailed/talked to corporate on the phone. Neither them nor the manager have done anything to remedy the situation but did come here and response after the fact, I assume to keep up the appearance that they care about their customers or did anything at all about this (they haven't) what a joke if a company. Not shocking all the recent reviews are terrible after the experience I had with the staff. ORIGINAL REVIEW:Sales associate sold me a shirt that didn't fit at all knew I was in a rush to get to a wedding the same day and told me I'd be fine to return it if I was unhappy with the fit up to 90 days. which turned out to be a complete lie she never mentioned that if you wear the shirt for one day it couldnt be returned (wedding was same day I didn't really have a choice) the manager refused to take any accountability for the misunderstanding and told me I was an a******. Really classy spot.

I walked in and immediately was greeted by Neil! He was extremely kind and easy to speak to. Neil made my experience one that will keep me coming back to this store. If anyone goes into store to get fitted I highly suggest asking for Neil.

Horrible customer service. As a groom, it’s concerning to hear my bridal party say the representative at the store was so rude they had to walk out without getting fitted. The rep told my party there is no other way to look up the party without the party ID. Which is not true because every other Jo’s a bank looked it up with my (groom) name and number. I called the location and asked to speak to the manager which “Gino” came to the phone and it was him who was rude to my party and he was argumentative and rude the whole call. Patience is needed in customer service and especially as a manager. Will not be back to this location as bridal party business is clearly not appreciated there.

Some serious customer service coaching needed in this Birmingham location! My husband and I were left feeling beyond unwelcome like we were interrupting the salesperson’s personal time (there were no other customers in the store also!).

So glad I get to tear this place a new one. My Dad paid for the rentals in Kentucky, where the wedding was being held. I was supposed to get fitted and pick up my suit. Instead I had to drive 25 minutes and struggle to find parking three times.
The same three blockhead employees were there each time, the 2 guys and the girl. The guys were slow and close to incompetent, and needed each other's assistance each time I went.
The first time I got fitted for the suit and shoes and was told there was a balance- I said the suit should have been paid for and the guy got the girl and the girl said I was good to go.
The second time I went was supposed to be to pick up the suit but the sleeves were somehow too long (even though they just fit me the first time), and I was told the shoes were NOT included in the rental.
The third time I went, I was told my shoes weren't included in the rental again and that there was a $12 balance on the rental, and the lady tried to tell me it was something to do with taxes, the conversation went something like this:
"No, my dad should have paid the balance in full"
"It was paid for but this is for Michigan taxes"
"...Okaaay, well is there a way to charge that card or...?"
"No, you'll have to pay it"
"I don't want to make an issue out of this but that makes no sense, why would there be additional taxes on a suit that's paid in full?"
"Well you pay taxes on all goods you buy, right, so..."
"Right but this isn't that situation, the taxes were paid in Kentucky when the suit rental was paid for in full"
Then the lady huffed and handed me the receipt and said "okay". I was like ".Okay like I'm good to go?" Then with an abundance of attitude and snark she said "well you just told me you're not going to pay it so...”. (Even though I never said that, I was just confused by their nonsense.) I was about to go in on her but decided to just smile and say "cool, have a good day"
I've skimmed over it but there was a lot more. Also my dad and multiple groomsmen had issues with the location they went to in Kentucky.
Also, who TF thought putting a business in downtown Birmingham was a good idea when the parking is an obvious nightmare?

We went in to buy my boyfriend a suit and immediately felt very unwelcomed. Unfriendly staff and made us feel uncomfortable. When they didn’t have what we came in for but were still open to other things they were not helpful at all. Ended up leaving because we felt so weird.

Bought a shirt from here and the worker would not allow me to try on the shirt promising it would fit me. It ended up not fitting me when I got home and when I returned it the same worker told me “I can’t resell this, you need to bring it back at least looking presentable” implying that it had a wrinkle in it. Incredibly rude way to treat a customer especially after you don’t allow them to try it on it store.

For starters i really need to explain a few things :
-Quality at Jos a Bank and reasonable prices are up there with the best and that’s why i shop there.
-Frank is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and energetic and is an asset to any place he works at and i can’t praise him enough.
The reason for the one star review is to bring the management’s attention to a very serious matter that happened while shopping between 6 and 7 pm on the 7th of May 2024 , i had brought at friend and we were looking at suites for him after i had personally recommended the shop and what proceeded to happen was an extremely unpleasant experience due to staff.
The one staff member that didn’t introduce himself did quite a few things inappropriately:
-No greeting or introduction upon entering the shop and didn’t offer assistance until we had helped ourselves and started looking into outfits.
-Refused to let us try on any shirts because of store policy that according to him states that if you open a shirt up you have to buy it, not sure why you couldn’t just redo the shirt after trying it.
-Asked us to bring him the hangers from the dressing room, and then said one was missing for one of the jackets!! Like seriously??!! The shop had ONE other customer and we had tried on two items of clothing!!
-Had to ask him multiple times to get a measurement for shirts.
Let alone the lack of interest and general nonchalant attitude which made me embarrassed by proxy for recommending the shop.
A truly abysmal experience at one of my favorite shops and i truly hope this gets addressed soon.

Wonderful service. I needed a tux for a event 3 days away. Paid extra 30 dollars fee for overnight. Tuxedo arrived less than 24 hours later. Lifesaving! The men's warehouse was like "beat it idiot, ya shudda been here 2 weeks ago". The suit fitted perfectly! I now know where to go for my next event
