I was thoroughly impressed and enjoyed my shopping experience at Gazelle Sports Birmingham. As someone who has gone to several running stores in the Metro-Detroit area searching for the perfect pair of road shoes - the staff were very friendly and helpful.
I must add that as a plus sized person getting back into running after years of a hiatus due to health issues - there did not feel a sense of judgement when I arrived and was met with kindness and a hello. I recommend anyone to support Gazelle Sports for their running needs.

Customer service level is poor. Was in there for 10 minutes and not one of the salespeople acknowledged me. Wasn’t even that busy. When someone comes in greet them and tell them you will be with them as soon as possible. Worse, someone came in after me and they were helped first. I left. Just order the shoes you want online save yourself the trouble. I would expect more from a Birmingham establishment.

Poor customer service and improper handling of credit card charges. I recently purchased two pair of shoes from Gazelle. After about five days I decided to return one of the pair of shoes. The store manager incorrectly charged my credit card again instead of refunding it during the return process. I did not notice the error until I got home. I immediately went back to get this problem corrected. I mentioned to the manager I was not happy I had to return and also mentioned how much I was inconvenienced in the process. He corrected the charges but his apology was very insincere. I will not return in the future do to how I was treated and how my purchase transaction was handled by the store manager.

I wanted to start running again so I went to get some help picking out a good pair of running shoes. I walked in and was not greeted. I walked around the store for approximately 15-20 minutes while the salesperson assisted the only other customer in the store. I walked around him, in front of him and beside him. Not one time was I greeted or asked if I needed any assistance. Common courtesy would be to greet EVERY customer who walks in and if you can’t help them right away, you inform them that someone would be with them shortly. Management needs to train employees on providing customer service, at least at the most basic level. There were customers who came in after I did that were greeted and assisted. I just stood in front of the shoes waiting to see if I would even be acknowledged. I was not in the 15-20 minutes that I was in the store. Extremely disappointed in my experience.

I had a sad experience.I couldn't believe it. They had the shoe I wanted but it was worn and a bit scuffed up on the BACK & FRONT SIDE. I was floored (like what?!) So I asked for a lower price. The sales rep was really nice, she offered to clean them. However, she said she did not know if she could offer the discount. I would have got them but it's sad when you don't go over the top for a used pair of shoes. Ms. Kirye did great but a clean pair of shoes with a discount would have been the BIGGEST STAR AWARD EVER for a used pair of shoes. C'mon Gazelle!
