I went in to find my size for a shirt and get some guidance on what shirt and shoes to buy to go with a suit I have. Devin was great to work with! I'm young and have had some bad experiences at other higher end stores, but he treated me well and answered all the questions I had. They're very knowledgeable and friendly.

I live a bit of a distance away, but I decided to pop in on a Saturday based on a recommendation from a colleague who has been a long-time customer of Carl's. I was not disappointed with the drive from Northville.
Upon walking in I was blown away by not just the inventory but the overall look and feel of the showroom. It's on the smaller side, but it's comfortable and completely approachable. I wasn't sure what to expect with the location being in Birmingham but I was impressed. Their stuff is pricey, but you do truly get what you pay for from a quality perspective. If you are looking for jackets with unique colors and windowpane patterns this is the place for you.
I ended up having Devin work on a couple of custom belts for me and was incredibly happy with the result. They are far and away better than what I was originally going to buy at Allen Edmonds. Between the inquiry and delivery it was about 1-2 weeks, which was fine.
Carl and Devin are pure class and a real pleasure to work with. I'm glad I had the chance to stop by.

I stopped in today to look at some shirts and was truly blown away by both the collection they have and the service. Devin was incredibly helpful and nice in touring me around the place and giving advice as to what he thought would work for me while also keeping in mind my preferences for patterns and colors. Just from this first experience I can say they have a long-term customer in me. If you're in the market for menswear I can't recommend Carl Sterr's enough, you won't be disappointed!

Highly recommend for any of your suit needs! We came to Carl Sterr’s after visiting a few other stores, and immediately knew we wanted to get my husband’s wedding suit from here. From their impeccable service and knowledge to the selections and the pups, we really enjoyed our entire experience. Everyone was very professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and the quick turnaround for alterations was great. Very reasonable prices as well for the high quality.

First time coming into Carl Sterr and definitely will not be my last! Immediately when I walked in I was greeted by Lenore and Devin and the atmosphere was perfect! I sat down in a chair and talked about life with them before Devin fit me for a new hat and gave me a tour of the whole store. Everything this is top-notch amazing quality and it all has an amazing story. I have never had a clothing shopping experience like the one I had at Carl Sterr. For a world of clothing that is going away from the personal and intimate, Carl Sterr was a breath of fresh air! Love this place!

Just completed another visit to this store. Their selection of men's clothing is broad, and of excellent quality. Prices are not cheap but for the high quality, they are very reasonable. This trip, I was helped by both Carl and Devon. These guys have become friends. I would not describe them as "salesmen" -- they're consultants. I encourage you to visit them. You'll enjoy the visit.
