I work for a local buy here pay here dealership. One of our customers got her car impounded because she does not have a valid drivers license since she purchased the vehicle her license has been suspended. We located the vehicle yesterday and called Bob Adams towing and the nice gentleman told me it would be $247 To get the vehicle out of impound. I told him Michigan now has electronic titles, and I would bring the receipt for the RD 108 and a repossession form with the hold harmless on it. He said that would be great and then be sure that the $247 is in cash. As it turns out, yesterday was a holiday, and the banks were closed so we were unable to get cash, and they would not take a business check. We called today to get the price and they told us $277 an hour and a half later they called us back and said oh we’re sorry it’s now $552!!!!! Not sure the price went up in a matter of an hour and a half the gentleman yesterday did tell me if we sent a tow company for the vehicle that it would cost an extra $150 for a gate pass but if we were going to come and get it and drive it then there would be no $150. Now they’re telling us that you have to pay the gate fee and also they have pictures or something???? I have no idea we get an average of 20 cars a year out of impound lots and I’ve never been charged for fees or pictures. Not sure how they get away with this pricing, and it is not set by the police department. It is set by them the police departments could give two hoots about how much they Charge. I have spoken to several police officers about pricing for different impound lots. It is a shame that them being a small local business along with us that we can’t work together and help one another out every now and then.
Oh, by the way, they ended up releasing the vehicle to the customer who still has a suspended drivers license……….

This is a malevolent business practice. Police offer a teenager help by towing his broken down car. Ends up costing $376 just to get it off of Bob Adams lot which is where the police arranged for it to be towed to.

Very Helpful & Understanding people!Their truck driver was able to pull my car out of the mud and onto his truck without damaging it further. I truly appreciate their quality of service and the fact that there is always someone there the phone snd answer any questions you may have when you call.

Bob Adams Towing saved the day. We had been stranded for hours on the highway in 11 degree weather with a crying baby and a blowout, the sun had set, and the insurance company roadside assistance closed our ticket for no apparent reason after hours of failed attempts to get help to us. We called everyone within 10 miles and finally, Bob Adams towing came to the rescue in 15 minutes. Thank God. I think the gentleman that changed the tour for us was named Jake.
