I always enjoy going to Alex Emilio Salon in Birmingham. I’ve been seeing Jenni S for six years and her talent is more than words can describe. I completely trust her with my cut and color. She is always up on the newest methods and I always leave feeling fresh, modern and transformed in a good way.
Requested style: My cuts and much different now from six years ago when I started seeing Jenny. She gave me long beautiful layers with highlights, shags, bobs, and now cuts that specifically suit my hair loss.
Specialties: She is really great with shags, strategically placed layers, how to cut and style thinning hair and do much more.
Hair type: I now have thinning hair and I leave it to Jenni to choose a cut and color that works for me. She always goes the extra mile.

Valentina is definitely THE ONE. She is patient, listens attentively to my ideas/requests, feels like I am her only customer for the day. Never felt rushed nor pushed into getting services that I do not need. I love my hair, love Valentina!!!!

When I booked my appointment I left a comment stating I have long hair and want long layers. I explained this to the stylist and showed her pics from her instagram of the style she had done for prior clients. She said she was known for this cut. She pulled up about 3 inches of hair and asked if I was okay with losing that much and I said yes(my hair was almost down to my hips) What I left with was an uneven face frame only with no layers and about 6-7 inches less of my hair. I drove an hour and 45 minutes from my home because I thought I was going to a stylist that could give me the cut I wanted. I was obviously mistaken! I also felt rushed throughout the entire process. When she was washing my hair she literally only washed part of my scalp. To say I am disappointed is an understatement as I have avoided going to a salon because of experiences like this. Please beware that what you see online doesn’t always transfer to real life and a lot of stylists do what they want to your hair not what the client asks for. In full transparency I did tip her and did book another appointment as so many of us do even in situations like this because we don’t know how to say no or that we are not satisfied with the results.

I thought I would try a new salon nearby and get blonde highlights. My hair now has orange highlights that aren’t lifted enough with an extreme ash toner that tried to cover up the fact they aren’t lifted. Very bummed. Don’t go here.
I now have to have multiple sessions elsewhere to fix it before my wedding.

I am a long time client of Jenny’s and she always knows how to cut my hair. It’s on the thinner side but she cuts it in a way that it’s all me and my kind of beautiful! Salon staff is top notch as well!

I finally found my dream hair stylist! Valentina is absolutely amazing! She listens to what I’m looking for, makes my blonde highlights exactly how I like them with natural grow out and does great cuts too. And to top it all off is just lovely to be around! Highly recommend!
