We were referred here to see Dr. RUTH for our dogs broken leg to see if it required surgery since my vet didn't have a full time orthopedic doc anymore. It didn't need surgery so we went to our normal vet for splint changes, after my dog developed a bad pressure injury we were referred back to her to manage everything as our vet recommended amputation. Dr. Ruth is very knowledgeable and all the staff there are great. She was confident it would heal just fine and definitely didn't need an amputation. Would definitely recommend coming here for an orthopedic needs or regular vet services. Plan on switching to them once we move.

Riverbend Animal Hospital in Big Rapid's is fantastic! My mother's dog was very temperamental the staff and Dr's were amazing to him! They made everything so easy when it was time to put him down! Thank you for making his transition over the rainbow bridge so much easier!

I have never been to a vet office that came as near as close as this place with their professionalism, knowledge, and kindness! I was so nervous going in with a liter of 11 golden retriever puppies and how it was going to be done. The staff made us feel so welcomed and had a plan to come out to our vehicle and wheel the giant crate inside (I had a 1yr old and was super pregnant so I was not much help) once in the room, of course 11 puppies comes with chaos, they handle it so well it actually became a fun experience. The vet Dr James Scott was so calm and polite, his assistant (I really wished I remembered his name) was the biggest help rallying up the puppies to go. This was my first time here and I will definitely be a returning patient with my future furry friends!

Everyone there was so nice and caring. No hidden fees. I will be bringing my pets there for all their veterinary needs. Highly recommend them.

Been taking our dogs here for a few years or so now, there's been two instances now where they where able to get us in last minute for urgent issues! Really appreciate them getting us in last minute and easing our worries!
Never felt rushed in or out like other vets! They really seem to care about our pups, I tell all my friends living in the area to take their pups to riversbend!

Have been bringing my cats and dogs to Dr. Scott since 2011. A few years back I was told that he retired and was no longer seeing patients, so I found a new vet, who I liked well enough, but I wasn't crazy about the way their office was run. Since then I've briefly tried two other vet practices, one I liked, the other was awful. I adopted a new dog and was talking to a vet tech at the shelter, she told me that Dr. Scott is still seeing patients. I was thrilled. I'm taking my pets to him once again.
What I really appreciate about Dr. Scott is his enthusiasm for learning, he really keeps up on his reading, and his willingness to work with clients and treat them with respect. He also seems to genuinely like and care about his patients.
I've had to call and talk to staff a few times and I think the level of knowledge, compassion, and professionalism has really improved since I left the clinic a few years back. I've been impressed each time I've called.

worst vet ever. they totally disregarded me about my concerns with my dog. I called around to other vets and they told me I needed to find a new vet asap. My dog is at home so sick as the Dr there gave me no answers. not impressed at all.

I was recommended to Riversbend Animal hospital by my previous vet after my boys health took a sharp decline. They were able to get him in immediately. Unfortunately, Olaf James passed on, but the staff was so amazing, they all signed a card and sent it. That ment a lot.

We have been trying to figure out what was wrong with our dog Peanut. We were told she was having seizures and was put on meds for that. Dr Scott found the reason for her episodes. She has Atrial Fibrillation. So she is finally on the right medication. So Thankful to have answers. The staff has been amazing and helpful when I've had follow up questions also.

Kind people focused on the welfare of animals. Found our cat Callie's Cancer and gave her meds with our consent that helped her last days be comfortable.
