How could a professional get such a simple style so wrong? I loved my length and made my intentions very clear in both a consultation and at the appointment. I was assured by multiple stylists and the manager, who has done my hair before, that the cut I wanted was more than possible for my hair. I wanted a simple v-cut on my waist length, straight hair and I told the stylist I was recommended, KENDRA, that I didn't want to lose my length. That was the whole point of this kind of cut. My length was so important to me and she agreed only 1 inch at the tip of the V needed trimming for dead hair. By the end of the cut she had somehow cut over 4 inches off the ends! The tip of my hair was waist length and now it's at my shoulder blades. She didn't even achieve the cut we agreed on after all that. I was flabbergasted by how much she took off without permission, and even more disappointed at how unprofessional she acted in the aftermath. She joked that I wouldn't need another haircut for 6 months and said, "at least you can still reach the ends in the back". I also warned her that layers would look choppy on my straight hair and had to talk her down from doing them on me. I'm glad I talked her into only doing the ends layered because it absolutely does look choppy like I knew it would. She was very flippant with me and didn't listen or take very good care when doing my hair. I am distraught about my length and will never go back.I also have to add that after the cut when my mom recognized the name, she said she had the same experience with Kendra. My mom had waist length hair and Kendra chopped it off against my mother's will several years ago. Kendra tried to hide the fact that she did so, because when i checked where the hair was lying on my back she said it was still down to my waist. This was over halfway through the cut.Services: Blowouts

My old stylist went to one of those rent your own space places. I do not like the silence. I enjoy the hustle and bustle of a salon. Went to Emiles and enjoyed myself.

TERRIBLE! DON’T GO HERE IF YOU’RE BLACK! There are much better places near here, it’s worth waiting for a place that knows how to do curly hair. I had Kendra. She asked me for my accolades to figure out how white I was…granted I did come into this place looking as if I didn’t care about myself, but I wanted to leave confident. I cut my hand and can’t get it wet for 1-2 weeks. I came for a blow out and good wash. I left looking worse than when I came. She shampooed my hair… not my scalp!!!!!my buildup after is the same as when I came. This is when I knew allowing her to do my hair was going to be a mistake, I should’ve left then. My stylist hinted at the fact that my hair is hard, unmanageable and unruly many times. I asked her if she’s done curly hair before because it was clear that she hasn’t. She said her boyfriend is black and her kids have curly hair but not as curly but her niece has hair like mine…. Like what does that have to do with her expierence doing curly hair?? She also told me about a method she uses to get the kinks out of my hair…. I don’t have kinky hair???. Over all terrible expierece and I wish I could get my time and money back. I spent years caring for my hair very gently so that it’s as healthy as it is… for me to be set back because of one ignorant, untrained, ill prepared, “stylist”. I would’ve rather had them tell me they can’t do it because they don’t know how to.

Never again. This is a reasonable blowout to my stylist Kendra. The picture of curly hair is my natural curl after my own styling after washing it. The burnt mess is how Kendra decided to do my blow out. I remember getting a blow out at a Dominican salon a few years ago and this was such a huge disappointment. She also said many micro aggressions and validated them by her expertise in curly hair through doing her mixed children's type 2 hair. If you hair curly hair go somewhere closer to Southfield. I will NEVER go to a European American salon again.

Emile is a nice salon. The atmosphere is relaxing and even when it's a little busy it's not loud. Kendra is my favorite stylist!
