“Decided to take my daughter to her first ever visit to a consignment store. This one is a very nice consignment store. Very friendly. And good selection with good prices. The industrial feel with the color coordinated rack and smaller items on the center table really made the experience of trying to find something much easier. Talking to the woman at the desk, we learned that this store was once at Eastern Market and was relocated to this area of Grand Blvd. Thank you for having such a welcoming environment.”

“Hey guys dropping in for some QTNA, I just spoke with Tania and she was so helpful! Yes, Detroit Closet does buy shoes, clothes and accessories from 1-3pm on weekends. On weekdays it depends on how long they will buy but it’s based off their budget for the day. They open at 12 noon and close around 6pm. Hope this helps bc it helped me!”

“As I walked in the door, John greeted me, very friendly chap he owns the resale shop. Lots of high-end goodies he had this awesome chandler owned by Matt and Kelly Stafford. Some really nice furniture also had a huge Jimi Hendrix painting $10,000 dollars a little to rich for my blood. I did buy something, so it made my day! If you're in the area, I would recommend you stop in and say hi to John, and you never know you might buy something that will make your day!”
“The clothing racks seemed a little bare to me, it’s a pretty big store though with lots of other items like furniture and toys. I was happy with what I found and they offer both teacher and student discounts on Thursdays which is super nice.”
“I had to clear out my mother's condo after she passed and need to find a good donation spot. First of all, this is a large location. It's clean and sections are organized. They accept donations on Saturdays, which is really convenient. I feel confident that mom's belongings will find a good home.”
“This is the second Value World I have visited. I usually enjoy thrifting but this is one of those places where you need to be mentally and physically prepared to dig through everything since their stores are so packed.The prices are okay. I had a digital $5 coupon since I signed up for their texts. I put it toward a scarf for our toddler. The cashier wasn't overly friendly and didn't seem to be thrilled to be there but she did get us out expeditiously.”
“I visited this value world for the first time while in the area and was thoroughly impressed! I frequent some of the other south east Michigan locations and this one stood out to me on size, organization, and cleanliness. I felt like some pieces were more reasonably priced than what I’ve been seeing at other locations as well. I didn’t have time to go check out the whole store so I will definitely be back! “Love this store pretty much has everything I wanted and more .. wish I had more time to go through the entire store but I will definitely come back and the cashiers are so sweet and friendly.. Kevin was so accommodating and helpful. The only thing I wish they had done was place somewhat of a fitting room ! I am disabled so it was difficult for me to change in front of the only other mirror by the employee door where I was standing in the way and blocking their way to the door. Trying things on is exhausting and not having actual place to try it on and sit down makes it even more difficult..I’m not sure why there is no fitting room but it would be an easy fix if you guys take that into consideration with some simple steps like adding curtains and mirrors attached in a corner with some benches but if not that’s fine too I guess .”

“THE best Salvation Army I’ve ever been to. Biggest selection, amazing organization of merchandise, and low prices with rotating daily discounts by tag color. Some clothes still have the original brand tags on them (probably not worn)!!!”
“I never write reviews, but as a single dad of teenage girls, I feel I got more help from here than I do at any other store I've ever been to. I felt the staff was friendly and very helpful, it is different - like they all want to be there. Here is an example, I do not know current style, brands, or prices and I needed school clothes for my daughters and my neighbor recommended Plato's. They helped me pick out clothes - mostly tops and some shoes and accessories. I've since been back not only to buy clothes, but to sell them. They did not buy all the clothes we had, but they did my most of them. I felt the staff was polite and the clothes they had were relevant - my kids like the styles I bought them. We all know how picky teenage girls can be.”
