I came in with high hopes for this auto shop. They assessed my truck and found it needed a new ignition starter and battery so they called me stating they would charge over 800 to replace both. I told them I had just replaced the battery the week before. They did not suggest to swap the battery but wanted to charge me this ridiculous amount of money to do the most basic things. I declined and told them as it was in the afternoon and i was at work I would probably not get aaa out to tow until the following day. The next day they called me at 7:30am saying you need to move your truck now because the garbage is coming and we don't want to have to tow your truck. So despite the fact that I needed to start my work crew I drove over there to move my truck to find the simply rolled the garbage out of the way of the truck they parked so the garbage could pick it up.... by hand. I had bought the part the previous day and took me a short time to exchange the ignition switch in their parking lot and jump my car to move it out of the way. They wasted a full hour of me paying my crew that morning to sit around waiting for me because the shop owner couldn't use their brain. They tried to take advantage of me and threaten me. I would never ever recommend anyone to use this shop.

I recently had some car repairs done and couldn't be more pleased with the experience. Tom and Rodney were professional from the start, fair, and straight forward. After they found the problem, Rodney took the time to explain the issues and my options clearly, which helped me feel comfortable in the decisions I made. Pricing was perfectly reasonable, the repairs were done quickly, and I was back on the road (with a working AC) in one day. If you're looking for a trustworthy place to take your car, I'd recommend Northern Auto.

Northern Auto. Great service. Tom, ,Rodney and their staff are the best. They work hard to get you in with your concerns or problems. I always used the Ford dealer in Royal Oak. For the last year I found it hard to get an appointment for routine maintenance or any problems. Very dissatisfied with their service department. You won't have to worry with Northrrn Anto. Only problem is they DON'T give senior discounts.

If you're looking to have your car repaired, Northern Auto Repairs is a top notch auto repairs business. I needed to have all 4 of my brakes done on my Tahoe and Northern had the job done in less then 24 hours.
Rodney Watkins was very helpful when I came in, and he answered all of my questions. Excellent service. To top it off; the final cost came in $258.55 cheaper than what he quoted me. I would highly recommend Northern Auto Repair for all of your car needs.

This was my first time at Northern Auto Repairs and I am thrilled with the results. I had been working with another local garage for several years but in the last year, I just didn’t feel I was getting the quality service I had previously experienced. So, I decided to try Northern Auto based on word of mouth and their great reviews.
I called, spoke with Rodney, then took my car over and the experience was great! It was like taking my car to a terrific doctor - Rodney listened, asked questions and recorded its “symptoms” and I felt like my car was going to be taken care of by top-notch auto repair experts. Based on what I said, they spent time doing a thorough diagnostic check and called me with the results. Rodney put a name to what was wrong with my car, explained why it was happening and the recommended fixes. He quoted a very reasonable price for the work. Northern Auto does a great job of itemizing the issues, recommending the fix and documenting exactly what the repair was and the cost so I felt comfortable that the price was completely in line with the work needed. I picked up my car and was absolutely so happy with how it ran, how it felt, the steering…everything finally felt “right”. What a relief!
I will highly recommend calling and talking to Rodney and bringing your vehicles to Northern Auto in Berkley. I am so excited that my car feels back to good again.

Always a great experience here, and very friendly people! Most shops aren't able to give me any idea how long I'll have to leave my car, and some don't seem to want new business, so I'm very happy I ended up here.

AC was fixed after 2 year recharge finally failed. Compressor was replaced July 26, 2024. After one week it is still working. Keep you posted. 2 year warranty.

A month ago I took my car in to get looked at. I was very happy to see how digital forward they are with the inspection with photos and videos included.
Rodney talked me through everything and was patient as I asked him varying questions about the amount of work needed to get done. The work was done quickly and my car’s ride is vastly improved.
I was happy to bring in my wife’s car for the same treatment, and the experience was great just as before.
Rodney and the whole crew at Northern Auto Repairs have provided a level of service I didn’t know I could get provided. Excellent.
