We moved from California with our 12.5 dog Riley. Riley had cancer of the liver and his health declined rapidly. Berkley Animal Hospital is the standard of clear communication, compassion and excellent service. Every visit was filled with care and love for Riley, from the vet tech to the Doctor who had to put him down because we couldn't see him suffer anymore as he stopped eating and became fatigue. This is a guilty decision to make putting our companion down but Berkeley Animal hospital was there for our family. 10/10 we owe them for easing the pain of the love of our life Riley. We no longer have our pup but would 100% take any animal here to experience the same care this hospital gave our Riley.

This place is Terrible! Moved to Berkley last summer and from day one they took my money before even bringing my pet in and double booked me! Next time said they couldn't give my pup a nail trim because he's too "active." Few days ago bring him in for his 2yr old shots of which already got a quote for $169, bring him in day of his appt, only for them to tell me it's $371!! NO ONE knows what they are doing there and they are extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate. NEVER go there! What's worse is they are directly down the street from me. A shame and a waste.

Great staff. They were very good with my nervous dog. They take things slow to help nervous pets, provide lots of valuable information and you can tell that everyone there truly loves animals.

Took too long to put my dog down! Was one hour long for the whole process. They charged me $235.00 for a 9 pound dog! It was pure hell to go through such a long process. Don't go there!

Just horrible!! They used to be amazing but somewhere along the way the compassion for the animals was lost!! It's so sad but I would never take another animal there!!

I had to bring my cat Juneau to be put to sleep suddenly on Tuesday. I just want to thank the staff and Dr. for being so very caring at this most difficult time for her and me.

Over the past year, this place has gone down hill in regards to business practices. A few months ago during a visit, I was presented the bill along with a big notice saying 5% upcharge when using credit card... So... no problem I'll just go home and get a check... minor inconvenience. Then today few days before a minor surgery - I'm hounded by the clinic to pay a $75 deposit up front - with a credit card. Perhaps some customers have no problem with such business tactics. For me, I will find a new animal care facility who's focus is more on the animal and the customer.

Got my bunny neutered here last week cost a little over 300 bucks but the staff were absolutely wonderful. They are very thorough about every aspect of animal care and communication is excellent. Plus the head vet really seems to know her bunnies. True animal lovers plus not any crooked upsell on unnecessary treatments.

I take all my dogs to BAC. Dr. Golombek is amazing and always spends time with me and my dogs. She is compassionate and addresses any concerns I may have. I really feel like she treats my dogs like she treats her own. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is being their surgery prices are astronomical. I go to a different vet for any surgery type procedures. $650 for my dog to get neutered. I was quoted $800 for my 10 pound dog to get his teeth cleaned, no extractions. But the one that took the cake was getting quite $1k for my female to be spayed.

First off they lied to me about when my dogs were due for shots so that id end up wasting money on an unnecessary appointment. Since that wasn't enough disrespect, the same day, they took my 2 PERFECTLY healthy dogs for their annual check up (they take the animals In a room where you CAN'T see them at all) and as soon as I brought both dogs home from this hell they were completely ill. My frenchie was COVERED in bumps and my pug (who was in PERFECT condition before seeing them) won't eat. Won't drink. Won't walk. If you love your animals do NOT take them here.

Every positive review here (except one) of BAC is quite a few years old. They used to be my vet when I lived in Berkley and I would have agreed with those high marks then. No more - if I could give zero stars I would with the ordeal my cat and I went through beginning 5/19/2022. The details of how bad the experience was (from an inexperienced vet treating my cat, spending hundreds of dollars for what was inadequate treatment of an injury, unresponsive staff at the front desk, another 800 dollar quote that I said no to to following the over $700 I had already paid because it was their lack of response that created the need for follow up treatment) and still having to take him to another vet for treatment -- this was the absolute worst experience I've ever had at veterinarians' office. I have emails I sent, estimates they provided, receipts of what I did spend, conversations with the office manager.... Save your pet and yourself wasted time, overcharges, lack of response, and every other thing we experienced with Berkley Animal Clinic. Find another vet clinic. You'll be happy you did.

I wanted to go here because I love Dr. G, however, I have had so much problem with the people answering the phones. I called to cancel an appt and replace it with another more urgent situation. I was put on hold for a long time, I was patient. When she came back she told me that I should not cancel. My first animal was OK now so it was fine that I canceled. I needed an urgent visit for another and did not want to wait a month. I told her that and she put me on hold again for a long time. Then she came back and told me to find an ER for animals, I told her I did not want to do that. Why was she arguing with me? She again put me on hold for the 3rd time for a long long time. I hung up. I called back the next day and had to leave a message...I said to cancel the appt for my first animal. I thought all was fine..then a couple days later I get a call reminding me of the appointment. ???? I love Dr. G but not worth the complicated stress of the girls on the phone.

We have been going to Berkley Animal Clinic for years with our 2 dogs and will continue to do so. Everyone there is very kind and knowledgeable. After having her for almost 14 years, had to say goodbye to our sweet dog Zora. Her health took a dive a few weeks ago, just as the COVID-19 crisis was also cranking up. All of the staff there was great and Dr Pick was fabulous. Dr. Pick went above and beyond to give care to Zora and she was so compassionate with us as we struggled with the grim prognosis. She and I would text each other daily on Zora's condition. In the heartbreaking end, Dr Pick came to the house. As soon as Zora saw her walk in the door, even as sick as she was, Zora got up and went straight to Dr Pick to give her a kiss. That is a testament to how much she loved and trusted Dr Pick.
