The employees at Herman Hiss are always very friendly and helpful. The jewelry selection is the best in the area and they also have a wide variety of non-jewelry merchandise. I would recommend stopping by the store.

I used this store several times for antique jewelry repair. Today I picked up a repaired ring that they suggested I replace the head. Upon pickup, I addressed that they significantly changed the look of my ring. This is a ring that my mom gave me and the new head they put on is not the same. They previously repaired the same ring and returned it looking the same/right. I had no reason to expect otherwise. Before this repair one could see the entire diamond in the setting. Now it's bottom half is covered in white gold. The jeweler or manager (?), with arrogance of attitude, indicated that for an additional hundred dollar charge, they could raise the stone again to make it look a bit more like it did previously. He explained in a patronizing and gas lighting manner way that because the ring was "so old" the way it was before was not recommended. My real problem is that I was not even informed upon giving authorization that my ring would look very different on return. Ask questions!!! Additionally the "manager " or jeweler completely escalated the issue with his pompous approach. Sadly disappointed here.

I went in there earlier today to buy a necklace band, as I already had a pendant. The staff were very nice and helpful, plus they even wrapped my necklace because it was a Valentine's Day gift! I highly recommend Herman hiss and company

I got an expensive custom wedding band made here, it came a little marked up on the outside and has a lot of small half circle indents on the inside, otherwise looks very nice. The biggest issue is the ring came with only one free resize and the people helping me size my ring used a flat style ring instead of the dome style I was ordering, so it didn't fit correctly. I was sized by three different employees over a couple months and they all only used the one style. After I received the ring and it didn't fit properly, only then did they use the other style to correctly fit my finger and make a new ring. I lost out on my only one resize (it's custom so I'd have to buy a whole new ring) because of that and they basically just said "your fault, too bad ??♂️". Not very happy about that at all, probably won't be back because of that. My wife's engagement ring and wedding band went well though, very nice. Everyone working there is super nice every time you go in

Always a great shopping experience at Herman Hiss. I’ve been shopping there for years so know a lot of staff. They always greet me by name and are more than willing to help me find the perfect jewelry or gift. A big plus is free gift wrapping.When giving or getting a gift from Herman Hiss, you know it will be special.

My first experience here did not turn out well. My wife and I came in to shop for a bracelet, but nothing on hand was what she had in mind. We looked at some catalogs and found something, but the term "special order" was never used we chose an item from a catalog.When the item arrived, the size was not right - it was snug when she had clearly said she wanted it loose, and it was not as wide as we had been told it would be.However, the store would not issue a refund or exchange because it was a "special order." I don't understand this way of doing business. They made the mistake but would not correct it.

Highly recommend Herman & Hiss for your jewelry needs. I have bought a men's ring, resized women's rings, and had a custom necklace made by their jeweler. Employees are always courteous and professional. High quality product and workmanship, I have always been impressed.

Love Herman Hiss! I have been going to this store for years. They have a great variety of things to choose from in the store, outside of jewelry. When I need a gift for someone or just want something special myself, I look here to find it! They are very helpful and wrap your gifts beautifully for whatever occasion. A great place to shop!

I wanted bling to celebrate my 31st wedding anniversary. My husband and I were on vacation and stopped in to Herman Hiss. I knew I found what I wanted because I got tears in my eyes when Vicky let me try on the diamond baguette band. Thanks Vicky for taking so much time with us!

I of course love Herman Hiss and shop there OFTEN and was never disappointed until my last visit. I had purchased about $1300.00 worth of merchandise. I had on the counter a $480.00 purse that was half off for $240.00. I was purchasing it as a gift and the sales clerk informed me that they do not wrap clearance items. Under normal circumstances I may have understood, but I just spent a large sum of money and the purse was not cheap either. Needless to say I did not purchase the purse nor will I be returning to Herman Hiss as a customer. For a store that prides themselves in customer service they really fell short this time. I gave them five stars because up until this day I was very satisfied.Kelly Clark

Herman Hiss has always been my go-to place for gifts. They have something for everyone, any occasion. All the staff are friendly and attentive. Receiving a wrapped gift with the Herman Hiss sticker on it is that special touch that lets someone know they are about to get something really nice!
