Hmm.. this place is like halfway updated. For the price, and compared to other places. It was decent.

Have a reservation in march for an event at the arena turns out hotel decided to close as of dec 1st for 6-12months and has not bothered to inform any of us with reservations of this. We just found out through another family that was trying to book for the same event today. We would have all showed up in march with no place to stay and the area hotels booked up because of the large competition we are attending. This is unprofessional and just wrong they have all our contact information and did nothing to even let us know we would be screwed let alone fix the problem they have created. All of us are now scrambling to find other places to stay with alot of the hotels already booked. This is why we book over a year in advance. We have stayed at this hotel every year for the past 8 or so years for this same event and will not ever be doing it again even when reopen. Called got a full voice mail and when i finally found someone to answer the phone was told they would get me a call back and that has not happened horrible customer service and business practices

Disappointed doesn't even start to describe this hotel... we're here for an Ice Cream Convention and upon checking in we noticed how unbelievably cold it was in the lobby. We tried eating at the restaurant which we were told was closed and then people were eating in it so we went down to check it out.. everyone was sitting in their coats eating (we decided to order pizza instead) wake up the next day and my husband went to the car to grab something only to notice the door down the hall by the restaurant had been left open snow 2-3" and the -17 winds blowing in the building... (mind you the lobby has industrial heaters running to keep up with the outside temps (that are apparent coming inside at this point) we notified the staff however there's clearly not security in place to be making sure side doors are being locked.Go to start classes today to find all of the walls in the conference rooms are covered in black plastic (I assume due to remodel) this along with no heat in the building made for a severely COLD 7 hours worth of classes. There have been SEVERAL people's who have checked into their too only to find it not cleaned. Were talking hair in sheets.. popcorn on floors and beds not even being made?!!! Another guess in our group had to move rooms 4 times..The ceiling in the convention center started pouring water from the ceiling today.I do realize that some of this is out of the managers control and I think they are working with what they can the best they can however I do hope the owners and upper management realize how poor of an establishment they have at the moment.. my room DOES have heat though (many do not) ? maintenance told us that a broiler went a couple of weeks ago and they haven't been able to fix it..? I fully believe guests should be made aware of this prior to checking in as well as the non working pool and hot tub...

I was at McCamly Plaza Hotel yesterday. They closed for 2 days and re-opened for our dinner in the banquet room. They plan to be closed for the next 6-12 months for a complete remodel. Their staff has always been attentive and the accommodations have been nice. I look forward to the remodel and Grand Opening with a Hilton Flag! Please send me an invite for opening day!

Stay was okay. They trick you into paying for a valet to park your car 20 ft from the entrance. They NEVER answer the phone either. Pretty unprofessional place.

The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and nice, but the overall experience was sub par. Many of the amenities advertised we're not available, the valet parking is mandatory and costs $10 a day, but when we came back from going out that night we had to park our car ourselves, and retrieve it ourselves the next morning at check out. It's definitely not the staff that is the issue, again they were wonderful. They are just clearly not getting the support they need from management and ownership. I probably won't be recommending this place to anyone planning on staying in the area.

Parking is NOT free! Some of the other reviews indicate that there is free parking here but that is not the case anymore. The hotel vallet is the least expensive option, at $10 per day. You can access your car as often as you'd like without further fees. The hotel employees are very kind, helpful and professional. The hotel is outdated but I found it to be very clean, which is more important to me. They are planning major renovations soon. The rooms & bathrooms are clean, beds are comfy, linens and towels are good quality. Overall a good value!

Upon arrival, the room was dirty. Refrigerator was full of old food, we had to ask for new sheets because the ones that were on the bed had brown spots and hair everywhere. The phone was broken and didn’t work. They also give you a tv sheet with all the channels for “McCamlys TV guide” not one single channel worked. The pool was still in construction from last year even though they told us it would be finished by the time we stayed. There was no bags in the trash bins and not one single soap in the room. I showed up when the cleaning lady was there, she said she had just finished cleaning and that she would bring some soap for the room. She ended up not even coming back. When I went down to tell the front desk all of the issues, a couple minutes later another lady came down and complained about the same problems. Seems like it would be a nice hotel to stay in if the rooms were taken care of better. The staff was friendly.
