I had been taking my dog there since November of last year and have never made an appointment. I either just bring her in after work in the morning and wait or once when I was taking her out to poop I saw white in her poop and just took her right in. I went to take her in today and the person at the desk said they have never in their existence took walk ins and are appointment only. yep lied to my face, when they could have just said they were too busy for walk ins today, or anything that was the truth.

I would have given Dickman Vet Clinic not even one star except this site would not let me write a review with out doing so. I have NEVER been so dissatisfied with a Vet Clinic in my 50 years of having a pet. Those at Dickman rd. Vet. Have seen my dog and cat for years without many incidents until lately. Now thru them I am being over charged and recharged for the same matter as to which she had been seen for originally. They failed to give my puppy an all over quick check by running their hands over your pets entire body. This was considered precautionary. And after getting my puppy home, I myself discovered a massive (approximately the size of a softball) lump on the left side of her chest.!!! During our appointment I informed the staff of my pup favouring her right back leg. And that this seemed to put her in a lot of pain. They (Dickman rd. Vet staff) decided to take a few xrays. At this time I am assuming they were going to take more than the obviously problem area. Not knowing what exactly what her problem could entitle. But today I reached back out to the Dickman vet office to speak with a member of the vet staff regarding the fact that my puppy wasn't getting, not even a little bit better. And to inform them of the lump I had found on her chest the size of a softball. Then I asked why I wasn't told about the lump at our appointment. At this moment I was told they didn't know about any lump on her chest. At first I was complexed. So I asked as to how they could have missed it after they'd given her the hands on exam. This is when she told me that this exam was NOT performed on my puppy. And didn't have a reasonable excuse. ? I asked the vet as to what did the rest of the xrays of her look like. Assuming they had taken more than one. But they hadn't. I asked why not. They heard a few excuses, and what it came down to was I needed to set up ANOTHER appointment with them for more xrays, and a recheck of her pain. Then she informs me that my puppy will either need to have surgery ($$$$$$) to see IF they can repair her. And if I can't afford the surgery, the other choice would be to have her PUT TO SLEEP. I'm still crying over this blunt news. When I commented about getting a second opinion her tone changed dramatically. She became offensive and informed me if I was unhappy with their services she would just go ahead and put my puppy's records in the mail for the new vet office. I was puzzled as to why I would have to change vet office's just because I felt I needed another opinion. ??? I went ahead and scheduled an appointment for her there at the Dickman rd Vet. The soonest they could squeeze my poor little baby in was not till the end of next week. WHAT!!!! Did I forget to mention the amount of pain she is having? But still they wouldn't budge on the return appointment. Which I could understand if this was a recheck appointment. But not for checking the items they failed to check the first time we had her there. Soooo, let me get this straight.... I have to take another day off work. Plus torture my baby AGAIN!!!!! Plus charge me MORE money for xrays that should have been taken on the last appointment. ????!!!!! Anyways I did set up another appointment with Dickman rd. Vet. But you can bet your bottom dollar I will be scheduling another opinion appointment somewhere else for a second opinion. Seriously Dickman rd. Vets? No wonder you only have 2 **'s. (stars). After my dealings with you people, I'm truly surprised you have that many. **** ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK! ****

Mass confusion with a touch of rudeness. Seems the techs do most of the work they often diagnose a problem. One can't talk to a vet they are cloistered in the back.. They don't always return promised phone calls. They have entries in the pet record that never happened. They misdiagnose & re diagnose & then combine the two & give a medicine that was unnecessary because of the other med they gave the same day. Circusesque.

I can't even give them 1 star with the horrible job they did. My poor baby crossed the rainbow bridge last Wednesday October 4th 2023. We had a horrendous experience there. I still can't seem to talk about it. But I'll be back with an update soon.

highly disappointed in the way they treated not only my dog but me very unprofessional. dr oliver needs some manners talk to him. brought my dog in there from sturgis michigan with a torn acl and they did absolutely nothing but try to distort money from me. set me out of there with no referrals on how to take care of my dog torn acl no options to get a leg brace. never told me that if i got a brace and six to eight weeks he could be healed they were trying to push $7,000 surgeries on me. office manager was supposed to call me back didn't dr oliver which don't be deserve to be called a doctor. was very rude obnoxious belligerent and hung up on me. and all i wanted to know is why they didn't send me out of there with a referral to ease the pain in my dog. let alone did they give him a pain pill while he was there i am highly disgusted actually with the way they run things there and i was a client for 20 years mid-90s all the way up to 2017 i held everybody to their standards come to find out their standards suck now all the good doctors i don't think retired they just seen what was going on and got the heck out of there. what a shame dr pete built that business up and has to watch it treat people like that. i've never asked for no favors from that that never owed them a penny and all i ever asked them was to take the best possible care of my pets but now after being hung up on several times. and being treated like i don't know i've never been treated like this before especially from that place. and i heard people talk why all the good old doctors aren't there no more but they claim they retired. and this doctor oliver he rubbed me as wrong as his doctor fritz. no compassion. i am flipping beside myself that any clinic would do what dickman just done to me..... and like i said if anything happens to my panzer i am going to hold dr oliver and dickman road vet accountable.... so let's pray the best for my fur baby.... hell when they get neutered at least come out with a cone... they held my dog hostage until i paid like i wasn't going to pay them. and actually after talking to dr fritz i thought i was going to pay him a grand or two by all the work he talked and said he was going to do. shame on y'all and they made me add just one star to send this review.

After spending the last ten years adopting and caring for senior dogs, my daughter finally adopted a puppy. Her senior dogs obviously weren't long term pets, so she was excited about having a puppy to love for many years to come. As a responsible pet owner in her 20's, she saved $500 for a spay. Puppy was less than a year old and healthy. The vet wouldn't perform surgery on a sick dog, so I'm sure they can agree that the puppy was healthy or they wouldn't have proceeded with the spay. Over the next week after being spayed, the puppy was in distress. My daughter called the vet, and they just casually said to bring her in THE NEXT DAY. Knowing they had preformed surgery within the past week, you'd think they would have offered to see the pup immediately. Nope. Dog was dead in the morning. They were happy to offer cremation for another $200. So in an effort to be responsible, my daughter ended up paying $700 for a dead puppy with no explanation.

Figured I'd put my 2 cents in since it's a toss up between 5-star reviews and 1-star reviews. My wife and I have been going to DRVC for years now and they've always taken the time to listen to our concerns and recommend multiple options for care in more grey-area situations. They always make me feel welcome and I rely on them to take care of my family...because that's what my pets are. I'd recommend DRVC to anyone. DRVC, however, gets busy because the community recognizes the great job that they do and all take their pets there. They'll do their best to fit you in during emergency situations, but if they can't they'll definitely recommend the next best vet to take care of your pet. If you show up on time, aren't a POS to the clerks, and genuinely care for your pet, DRVC is the clinic for you

I've been going to Dickman Road Vet for years. recently my cat Bobear became very sick one night and called them 1st thing following morning. I got right in and taken care. I ended up going back the next day and got right in. Discovered my cat had an intestinal blockage. He had immediate surgery and I was asked to pick him right up so he could be monitored 24/7, since they don't have the staff to do that. Dr Alyssa Backus was our vet that took excellent care of him and gave me her phone number so I could give her updates on him. I was very impressed with that!!! Then we couldn't get Bobear to eat so she called in an appointment for us today and saw Dr VanRyswyk and he gAve us an appetite suppressant and a heavier pain medication and now he's doing great! Finally on the road to recovery!. So very thankful to these wonderful vets at Dickman Road Vet!!!

So the only problem that I have with them is I have been with them sense about 1995, I am divorced now and when I told them to take my ex off my account she the receptionist had me start a new one so it looks like I've only been there a year. Yes I know it's petty. They've always done right by me other than that may be a little faster in the waiting room but I haven't seen one doctor there that I wouldn't recommend.

I'm truly heart broken over what this place has done to me and my family. I called for 2 days straight at 8:00am for an emergency appointment. Both days I was told that they had open appointments and could see my sick bunny and that the doctor would call me back. Both times they called they said there was no availability and to call back right at 8:00am. Then I expressed my concerns for my bunny's health at this point. And I was told by the lady on the phone that if you are so concerned take your bunny to the hospital. I would have done that but you keep telling me you could seen him. They all were very rude to me. And now my bunny is at Milwood in Portage because the staff there actually cares about my concerns.

If you set up an appointment for your diabetic dog, you can walk threw the door and have a Doberman charging at you then when you check in the office lady can tell you today doesn’t make a difference because of her timing for insulin! (Maybe have your receptionist check this before someone takes off from work to bring there dog on) oh and the best part is you get charged an extra 60$ for an “office call” since “something was wrong with her urine” (nothing was wrong with her urine) wonderful place!! I wish I could take ALL my loved ones here!!!!

I have been taking my dog here for 7 years. I have had no problems and they are substantially cheaper than most vet offices. I've had to wait 20 minutes for my appointment before but this isn't an issue for me. I understand that they receive calls in the morning for emergency visits. I'm willing to wait a bit for my appointment if it means emergency visits are available to me and my fur baby when we need it...and they have been! Happy to say I have called a few times in the morning needing to get my dog in ASAP. I have always been accommodated if I call right when they open. I've been happy with the care I have received here and recommend this practice to family and friends.
