Great steelhead fishing trip with Frank Willetts (owner/operator) of the Pere Marquette River Lodge. Trying cold conditions, but Frank kept us entertained, warm, well fed and on some fish. Highly recommend. Added plus is the well stocked fly shop.

We had such a lovely cabin stay at Pere Marquette River Lodge. We were greeted on arrival by a very friendly and helpful staff. Then went to our adorable cabin with a full kitchen. It was cozy and warm and just so cute! I was so impressed.Our guide, Jory, for our fishing trip was wonderful. Very knowledgeable, incredibly personable. He knew all the places to stop for my fiancee to catch Salmon. Which was a bucket list item for him! The lunch he prepared was delicious! We will definitely be back and next time I think we will do a week instead of a weekend.Rooms: It was so cute and cozy!

Casey was our guide for the day. Our experience was top tier. Casey was a pleasure to be guided by and was super knowledgeable & helpful. My father and I had an absolute blast. The staff at the lodge/fly shop was fantastic through and through. I didn’t book a room but definitely will be the next time around. Thank you to all the staff and casey for the wonderful experience. You have made life customers of my dad and I.

Fished for a day. Wesley was our guide. Had a blast. Caught a few, lots of fish. Very knowledgeable about surrounding area, and environment.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the PM River Lodge for a fly fishing trip, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the warm and friendly staff who made me feel right at home.The lodge itself is nestled in the most picturesque location, with the most crystal-clear rivers. The scenery alone was worth the trip! The accommodations were comfortable and impeccably clean, providing a cozy retreat after a long day on the water.Speaking of the water, the fly fishing experience at PM River Lodge was truly exceptional. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. They knew all the best spots and shared invaluable tips and techniques, making it an unforgettable learning experience for both beginners and seasoned anglers.I had the opportunity to catch some trophy-sized trout, and the thrill of reeling in those beautiful fish will stay with me forever. The guides ensured that every moment on the water was enjoyable and tailored the experience to my skill level and preferences.Overall, my stay at PM River Lodge was nothing short of extraordinary. The combination of breathtaking scenery, exceptional fishing opportunities, knowledgeable guides, and warm hospitality made it a truly unforgettable experience. The guide (Frank) berated us nearly the entire time and screamed a lot. We are beginners and it was our introduction to fly fishing. He was extremely rude and unhelpful when it came to learning the techniques. We caught no fish. It was overall a strange, unpleasant experience because of the staff behavior. We did not stay at the lodge.

The river was so beautiful and it was great to see unspoiled land as it looked hundreds of years ago. We booked guided fly fishing and had a nice day on the river but it didn't compare to other excursions I've done. First, the guide told us to arrive at 7a. We did and no one came to open the shop until after 8:15. Standing around and waiting for our waders as well as missing an hour of sleep put me in the wrong mood. Our guide gave us lures that were small pellets the size of a pea telling us there were large fish to catch...how stupid did he think we were. We saw the large steelheads jumping in the river but really? People from the eastern side of the country tend to tell people off and in Michigan everyone is 'nice' so I kept this to myself, but I felt totally scammed. Lessons learned, if you are a beginner, interview the guide and ensure that they won't decide that real fishing isn't for you because of your lack of knowledge and experience.

Awesome experince. House was loaded with anything we needed.Stayed in the lodge June 22nd 2023 and was super clean and the shower looked brand new! Great experience every time I have been there.

Great fly shop! It is an authorized Orvis shop and sells Patagonia gear. The owner is very knowledgeable on the rivers and what fly patterns the trout are biting. Beautiful area if you are into fly fishing or just a nature lover. While your there book a float trip.

Needed a place to stay near Baldwin. We rented the house right by the river. It was really neat. The large window in the family room was just feet from the river. The house was well appointed for a fishing destination. Complete kitchen and appliances. Large dining table and a foseball table. The staff were great! They all were very courteous and responsive even when we couldn't locate the thermostat because we set a cooler in front of it.We plan to visit again with a larger group when we'll have time to spend on the river.Photo is of Common Merganser mother duck and a half dozen babies spotted from the big window.
