Recently stopped in and was really impressed with the gear they offered. Josh was friendly and patient answering my new to the area questions. I've been fishing small streams in the UP for 50+ years-can't wait to learn the area with these guys. And, they have a good selection of good cigars.

Rough Country Cafe, I found the tent set up in the parking lot of the Fly Shop right off of M37.They open up during the Blessings of the Bikes weekend through Oct. 1st in Baldwin, MI.Good and clean food vendor you won't be disappointed, Chris who made my food was very nice and smiley.They have very delicious lamb Gyros. Word of advice ask for a second pita ?*They don't take credit cards but cash and cash app*

Earlier I had a post and referenced a competitor to 1884 Fly Shop. The review reflected an unpleasant experience I had at the Baldwin Fly Shop, a competitor and definitely NOT 1884 Fly Shop. My mistake.Dan the owner, reached out to me fortunately and helped me find the error of my way. He's a great guy, go in and see him or any of his highly trained staff!Best fly selection east of the Mississippi, so it is said.

Great fly shop. Dan really knows his stuff and is very helpful. It really shows seeing his enthusiasm for the sport. One of the nicest fly shops I've been in and has all the latest gear. You won't be disappointed!

Nice place sharp well put together. The owner has a vast amount of knowledge on the subject. This store specializes only in fly fishing! But they do have a nice little cigar humidor selection for you to relax without on the river.

Amazing selection of flies and gear. However what sets 1884 apart is Dan and his crew. The guys at 1884 are always happy to help answer questions, and set you up for success. They deeply about the PM and surrounding rivers and trips and are all about doing it the right way. Can’t recommend this shop enough!

The guys at this shop are hell bent fly fishermen and they are very knowledgeable about the surrounding rivers of Baldwin. This shop has everything you need to get started in fly fishing.I visited this shop one time and can't wait to go back and hang out and tell fishing stories.
