We made an appointment to have a jeep painted. Waited a mouth to get the jeep in. The jeep sat outside for two and a half months. So three and half months all together, he hadn't touched it. All the time telling us he had it in the shop working on it.

Sharing from my friend at work: So in 2019 I contacted dustin Simpson up at dusty customs in Michigan to do a cummins swap on a square body. He requested a 5k deposit from me so he’d know I was serious. I sent it and he received it. I found the square body I wanted, bought it, and had it sent to his shop, dusty customs, up in Attica. I then had the Cummins motor sent there. I had the nv5600 transmission sent there. The job list was to pull the old 454 and transmission, and to put the cummins and nv5600 in it, do very minimal body work as the truck was in great condition, paint it black, and install the parts I was sending to him. The parts were a new gauge cluster and pillar gauges, new carpeting for the interior, changing from a solid rear window to a slider, swapping the old bumpers for new bumpers, and changing the headlight setup for the stacked headlight setup. I also bought a lift kit, and wheels and tires for him to install. Other odds and ends I wanted completed were linex in the bed, install sound deadener and a new carpet, and amp power steps installed. He said he could do all of this. The truck and motor were dropped off in January and February of 2019.In November of 2023 I called dustin and told him that I was coming to pick up the truck in early December, because that truck was not spending another winter in Michigan. I was told that the body wasn’t on the chassis. After a conversation with Dustin, he said he would be able to completely have the truck finished by December 29th 2023, or I wouldn’t have to pay anything additional to the 5k I’ve already deposited. He then put this agreement on paper, which looking back is a mistake on my part as this is the only contract that he signed, when I should have had a job order contract signed up front so I wouldn’t be in this situation 5 years later.The pictures below depict the condition the truck was dropped off in, and the condition I picked the truck up in yesterday.The lift kit is installed. The Cummins and transmission are in the frame but nothing is connected. It’s not wired, plumbed, piped, there is no transfer case under the truck, and there are no driveshafts in the truck, and the clutch is in the shipping box in the bed of the truck.The truck is painted, but the bedsides and fender have to be redone because the gas doors are not shaved which was agreed upon, and the antenna is not shaved which was agreed upon.I haven’t unpacked all of the parts that were in the bed to see what all is missing out of my inventory list, but am missing a stock hood, chrome side steps, two of my stock wheels and tires, and a bottle of whiskey that the gentleman I bought it off of included with the purchase of the truck and placed in the truck when it was shipped to dusty customs.I could make this post a mile long about the lack of communication and refusal to send pictures, but I’m trying to make this to the point.2 months short of 5 years and this is what I have to show for it. Get agreements and contracts in writing signed ahead of giving somebody a project.Just sharing my experience so it doesn’t happen to somebody else.

I had great experiences with Dusty Customs. They replaced the bumper on my truck and fixed multiple issues on my wife's van. They gave me an estimate, got the parts ordered and then scheduled me to bring the vehicles in. There was good communication with updates and I was pleased with speed and results of the work. The vehicles are like new again. Definitely recommend!
