Wolverine Tax and Financial have been an absolute delight to work with. It feels like they are human and care and are experts. Their office emits genuine enthusiasm and intensity toward their craft, and I feel in great hands with them. Some years ago I was using an unnamed popular solution (rhymes with "butcher smock") who messed up multiple years and cost me drama with the IRS. Wolverine not only got things on track but has helped us immensely since we switched over to them.

I interacted most with Neil, Gabe, and Chloe. All three were friendly, knowledgable, and professional. They immediately made me feel welcomed and supported. I have Roth IRA retirement accounts at two different firms, which slightly complicated the process of collecting tax documents (over having just one firm involved).
Since, at the start of 2023, I had a Roth IRA at tdameritrade, and the merger (acquisition?) last summer led to my IRA being at Schwab now, Neil and Gabe cautioned that some tdameritrade data may not be fully preserved (indefinitely) in my Schwab IRA account, so I would be better off getting records of the ROth IRA past deposit dates and dollar amounts now, if they're available, from Schwab. I wouldn't have thought of doing so on my own, so I really am grateful for this advice.
I'm not sure that my tax returns were terribly complicated, but, honestly, I've never prepared them on my own. I appreciated the opportunity to benefit from Neil's expertise and knowledge around tax requirements in different states. Also, I was working from Wisconsin for a short time (~30 to 40 days) in the summer of 2023. For part of that stay, I was paid by my Michigan-based employer for remote work that I did while I was physically located in central wisconsin. Neil pointed me to resources for income tax requirements around this issue (of having spent time in multiple states) so that we could be sure to adhere to state tax laws in both Michigan and Wisconsin.
Quite honestly, I was not really looking forward to our in-person meeting last week - In past years, I've found tax return preparations dull and accountants duller. I was greatly relieved to learn firsthand that such characterizations don't apply to the staff at Wolverine Tax. They have created an environment where I felt heard, supported, and validated. They also offered to continue to work with me in future years, even if I end up relocating away from Ann Arbor. I will eagerly take up this offer.
I will recommend Wolverine Tax to anyone who wants a friendly & personal touch from their tax return preparation team.

They get back to you fast, are very engaged and careful about your concerns, and communicate clearly to a tax/accounting “layperson.” Great Ann Arbor company.

I can’t say enough good things about Wolverine! I needed to file taxes while in the midst of a divorce which made things doubly complicated. Ross and Chloe were phenomenal through the entire process, they were quick to answer any questions I had and their turn around time was fantastic. They made the entire process seamless and stress free. Not only do they exceed expectations for customer service, they are also just wonderful human beings.

I love working with Wolverine! As someone who recently transitioned into being a full-time freelancer, tax season had become an enormous dread for me. Working with the Wolverine Team and Ross on my taxes is making me feel empowered (and dear I say excited?!) to get my proactive systems in order to make my quarterly tax payment process much more manageable and informed.Ross has helped me break everything down and translate what each question and number means. He is a very clear and kind communicator - his patience makes me feel comfortable asking questions.I am planning on making appointments with Ross for further tax coaching! I highly recommend working with Wolverine.

Wolverine Tax and Financial is a wonderful company that helped me through an extremely difficult and complicated multi state tax return after a cross country move. They are a team of true tax experts that I will return to time and time again. Not only are they excellent at the substance of the work, but they are compassionate people who go above and beyond to help their clients navigate through the complex IRS system. Both Gabe and Ross would call me and email me after hours(including on a Friday night ) when issues came up that caused me anxiety , and walked me through the situation. The office staff are also terrific , quick to respond , and very kind . I cannot recommend this company highly enough. They will not only do your taxes correctly , but they will ease your worries and calmly explain all of your options and processes . They are wonderful .

Prior to meeting the team at Wolverine Tax, I dreaded tax season like many dread the bi-annual visit to the dentist. You will not find a more personable and professional advisor than Gabriel (Gabe). After less than stellar advice from my previous accountant, from 2021-onward, guidance from Gabe and Co. has been much welcomed.
