My wife and I came in for an organic mattress and are so happy we did. The staff at Van Winkle went WELL above and beyond our expectations. Our shopping experience with them was one of the best we have had! We use this place A LOT for work and they are always amazing. If you want customer service the old fashioned way it’s here! I called again today to get a mattress set for a consumer and Stephan (hope I spelled that right) went out of his way to make sure I had the best set up for them. I Will never buy a bed anywhere else.

I couldn't sleep due to back pain from years of working in the landscaping business.I got recommended by one of my employees, Thomas Alvarez, for this mattress place. The guy who looks like a young version of Van Winkle's who works there is very nice, and recommended I pick up a mattress from them. There was no pressure whatsoever to buy a mattress.Absolutely amazing feel, I've never slept better. Will recommend to the rest of my employees.

If you're shopping for mattresses in the Ann Arbor area, Van Winkle is a must stop. The owner Ken is no pressure, no rush. He takes the time to talk with you, get to know you and is sincere in his conversation with you. He wants you to get a mattress that will suit your needs, not what will beef up his bottom line. When I stopped in Ken spent an hour with me, giving me a crash course in mattresses and some general life tips. I ended up not buying a mattress from Van Winkle, but only because Ken didn't carry the brand I was hoping to buy again for an additional bed in our home. Ken had encouraged me that if I was able to find the brand I already had and liked, to get it! If he had that brand in his inventory, it would have been a no-brainer to buy at Van Winkle. But, alas. Anyways, when you stop at Van Winkle, you're rewarded with a generous offering of mattresses and a salesman who in an old school way genuinely wants whats best for you, even if that means he encourages you to shop elsewhere because he doesn't carry that particular brand. Seriously, 5 Stars for Van Winkle! Ann Arbor is lucky to have a mom&pop shop like this with a salesman who's heart is in his profession.

Amazing customer service and great selection. Ken (owner) went above and beyond as we arrived 30’ before closing on a Saturday. Walked us through lots of options and once we decided on a mattress he ultimately delivered it himself on his way home from the shop. We were NOT on his way home and he didn’t have to do that. If you want to support a local business with great customer service, buy your mattress from Van Winkle.

So happy!Great shopping experience. Ken was wonderful explaining different compositions of mattresses.Originally, thought I might want an organic cotton and wool mattress; however, my choice was Sealy Hybrid Copper II! Delivered on Valentines Day (same day deliv). I can't remember the last time I fell asleep so quickly. I'm waking up feeling wonderful.I LOVE MY BED!Thanks Van Winkle!

We bought a queen size bed with metal frame and extra sheets and a pillow. The customer service we received was excellent. The process was smooth and delivery was prompt, and the price was extremely fair.Would highly recommend Van Winkle Mattress!
