The collections here are phenomenal. The photographic print collection is beyond anyone’s wildest imagination. If you ever get a chance to tour the archives or special events, do not miss out!

The Museum of Arts was a beautiful venue to host the 2024 U of M Black Alumni Association's Maize and Blue gala. The staff was friendly & professional and the food was delicious. They could improve the rental experience by documenting their policies & procedures (set up, loading, sound, alcohol, ticketing, photography, etc) and reviewing those with potential renters prior to signing rental contracts.

What a lovely collection. I do wish the modern/contemporary art collection was a little bigger but other than that, I loved the galleries. I especially loved how they discussed the history behind paintings related to slavery. There are a lot of spaces within the museum to gather to work as well and participate in social art. And the best part? It's free. Great way to spend a couple of hours in Ann Arbor.

Definitely not fine art; more of a quirky/weird/sad type art museum. Low rating bc I found the selection and placards here to be so underwhelming. Placards didn’t give any info about historical significance. Some of the most thought provoking pieces, the large 3D displays in center of galleries had no placards or acknowledgment of the artist. A few original Picassos. Nice SE Asia exhibit. I like to visit art museums when I travel but regretted coming here over other attractions.

I didn't find this museum to be very impressive; there wasn't a ton in the collection that was of interest to me. However, I feel it's hard to criticize a free museum much. You're not wasting your time if you choose to go, and if you pair it with the archaeology museum across the street, you'll enjoy yourself.

Very nicely placed. The exhibits on Asian and South Asian countries, Killing fields of Cambodia and Africa are worth visiting. The history is written in well written snippets

Pretty cool. The layout is a bit strange but all the art is interesting to look at.
People at the check in desk didn't mention we weren't allowed to have drinks so halfway through the museum we were asked to throw away our water bottle (it was almost empty not a big deal, but a bit inconvenient).

No need to but tickets, free to everyone and they close at 8 (if I recall right, at least they close a lot later than the Kelsey museum) so it gave us plenty of time to browse and even check the cafe inside.
The staff is nice and friendly as well. Plenty of cool stuff to look at. A nice place to emoji enjoy with family or on your own. They a cafe inside if you feel like grabbing a snack and getting a coffee.
