Awesome instructor.... and Human being. I've never met a more kind, patient, selfless philanthropist. I've never attended a yoga class but as to her character, I cant speak any greater words to describe. I just think shes an amazing person.

I have been practicing yoga with Christi for over 13 years & I can say that I have learned more abt yoga & grown more as a human in that time period than I ever would have imagined. The studio is small & lends to a more private, personal, & community feel. Christy provides direct/gentle feedback & always guides the class based on a new theme each session. If you're looking for pure yoga philosophy without the trendy yoga frills so common today, look no further!

Christy DeBurton's Yoga Room epitomizes everything that is good about yoga. She is an amazing and well trained instructor who brings something new to every class. She is a uniquely gifted talent and her gentle guidance leaves you “complete†after each shavasana. Her ability to seamlessly teach yoga concepts during themed sessions elevates a lay-practitioner's understanding and helps us integrate our yoga practice into our daily life. I'm a huge fan and can't imagine practicing yoga with anyone else.

I went to the yoga room for 5 years before moving and I can say, hands down, it's the best yoga studio I've ever had the privilege to vinyasa at! Christy provides a peaceful, challenging atmosphere that almost feels like a private lesson. Her hands-on interactions are gentle and affirming. She guides the best shavasana around with a brief guided relaxation followed by plenty of quiet and even a hands-on relaxation technique that I always looked forward to! She's the best. Seriously. If you're looking for a spiritual-physical yoga connection, this is the studio for you!

I love so much about The Yoga Room. I've been attending classes for multiple years, and I expect that I will continue for many more. Christy's attention to mindfulness is something I particularly appreciate and her style that incorporates teaching students about yoga principles in practice reinforces the instruction. The best yoga classes I've taken, and I've taken many!

I've taken a lot of yoga classes and lot of places. This is my favorite. Christy is very knowledgable and keeps track of each student's needs. I've learned a lot about yoga and a lot about my own body. Also wonderful physical environment.

I've been regularly attending classes at The Yoga Room for over a year. The offerings are well beyond just a physical yoga class, but gets at the philosophy as well. Instruction is clear during class, and the small class size allows for a personal touch and opportunity to ask questions. A great place for yoga, or a community if you are interested in more!

Christy is a skilled instructor. Her classes are small so she is able to focus on each student and assist them as needed. She makes you feel comfortable no matter what your ability or skill level, if you are a novice or have taken yoga for years. The Yoga Room is located in a beautiful, tranquil setting. The hour I am doing yoga, I feel like I am far away from everything. I inevitably leave in a better state of mind than when I entered.

I have been attending classes at Christy's "The Yoga Room" for several years. In August 2016 she relocated to a small studio just west of Ann Arbor. The new setting is small, beautiful, and welcoming. Classes are no larger than 7 people. Christy's teaching style is a unique mix of flowing traditional poses, creative additions based on her extensive knowledge of physiology, and yoga philosophy. Each two month session has a theme that inspires the content of the classes. If you are looking for a personal, non-threatening, studio for your yoga practice, I recommend The Yoga Room very highly. No matter what your experience level, you will feel welcomed and at ease.

Christy's are the only yoga classes I've stuck with. They are fantastic. In her Vinyasa class, each week has a different focus and a different flow/routine. It keeps me engaged week after week. I love the personal attention and Christy's teaching style, which recognizes that everyone comes to class with a different intention. Oh, and the studio is GORGEOUS.

I'd never done yoga before Christy came to our office and held some sessions on site. That was about 6 years ago. I decided to join classes at her studio, and have missed at most two weekly classes since then. My clients, family, and colleagues know that "yoga night" is protected! I'm off line and unplugged. Why? Improved strength, focus, calm, insight, flexibility and perspective. You get it all at The Yoga Room. And the new studio is the bees' knees!

From Terry Heck Seibert: I am going into my fifth year of taking yoga classes with Christy. I find practicing yoga to be essential to keeping a sense of emotional, mental and physical balance in my life. Christy is a gifted yoga teacher. She maintains a lovely symmetry between the physical and spiritual aspects of the discipline. The classes are small and there is lots of personal attention. Christy keeps classes challenging but always offers adjustments and modifications. They also have a great sense of flow. I find I have an overall strength endurance and sense of calm that I attribute to this practice over time. Christy's new studio with its the scent of pinewood, high ceilings and windows with a view of trees all around give the classes a restful ambience—like a mini vacation or oasis.
