Very disappointed. I filled out the questionnaire when I booked the appt and was very upfront with my budget as requested. There were maybe 2 dresses in the entire store under $500.00. Every other dress was $650 or more and there were dresses with broken zippers and sweat stains still marked at $700 and $900. The overwhelming disappointment is sickening. I understand that a low budget is a harsh thing to work with, but a simple text or call that they wouldn't be able to work with me would have saved me a 45 min drive each way.

I saw rave reviews all over Reddit about this shop and their support projects for families affected by cancer in the Ann Arbor community. I live in nearby Plymouth — so there’s no shortage of bridal shops. Really didn’t want to buy new because it can be wasteful and expensive for something you’ll only wear once. Also prefer that my money and the large purchases I do choose to make will get a second life helping someone access the treatment and care they deserve.
I came in on Saturday October 12th for a consultation and fitting with my bridesmaids after making an appt by phone. Heidi was knowledgeable, professional and helpful. Super practical advice, listened to what we were planning and helped us find a ton of great dresses that fit my size, situation, and budget.
I am still blown away by the selection they had and would send anyone looking for a dress over there in a heartbeat. The dress I found is something that would have been completely out of my budget if I purchased it new, and it was so well made that it was in near pristine condition. We saw dresses that originally cost $20k, $13k, $9k, etc. Tons of designer tags if you care about that sort of thing, they had just about everything you can imagine and they had a lot of inventory of different sizes available. They have two in-house tailors for alterations and Heidi gave me their contacts and instructions on how to schedule alterations.
The fact that my purchase will go to someone’s cancer support is why I went in the first place — but with the quality and selection they had and the level of service they offered, I would not have guessed that they were a charity first. This place is THE spot to find a wedding dress in 2024. Kudos to this group for being amazing and seamless in all aspects of what they do.

I feel bad leaving this review because I respect what The Brides Project is trying to achieve, and it is important to me to make large purchases conscientiously so purchasing my dress from a shop that also donates to charity felt like a win-win. However I have had two experiences there and now have a sour taste in my mouth for the establishment.
My first experience there was very pleasant. The volunteer who assisted us was very kind and I was able to find an Allure Bridal dress for $800 which my parents graciously purchased for me back in February of this year. This was my dream dress.
Life happens and in May 2024 I found out I was pregnant. Since the dress was a little big on me when I bought it I figured I might be able to have it taken out or a corset back installed (which I knew would be expensive but was willing to pay for.) I did try to wait to have alterations done within six weeks of the wedding so I could be as big as possible and see if the dress would fit and we could work with it. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The seamstress I was working with, Leanna, was honest about my expectations for what she could do the dress and advised on me getting a new dress due to the time constraints which I totally understood.
Heartbroken, I asked if I could speak with the woman working to see if I could trade the dress in for something cheaper or equivalent to what we paid for since they obviously had my information on file. The worker advised that all sales were final and that would not be possible. While I understand business practices, the first dress was only worn by me once when I tried it on at their location and not touched by the seamstress. It felt heartless to me especially from a company that is built on compassion and supposedly for a greater cause. There was no compassion and no empathy, but the worker did seem invested in making sure she got another sale. She did not offer to reach out to any upper management to see if there was anything that could be done or offer any type of respite.
We were obviously in a lurch so I ended up having to buy a new dress and re-donated the one I originally wanted. This makes me feel really gross about my dress buying experience and now I will not recommend The Brides Project.

Wow, I cannot express enough how wonderful of a time I had here!
Every step of the way was an easy, affirming, and sweet process. I was a bit worried because I'm a bit of a bigger girl on a tight budget, but they supplied a great selection of dresses for me to choose from. Plenty of options. I wish I could remember my assistant's names but they were so caring and sweet! Giving me plenty of information on ways I could alter the dress and things I can add. I found a really cute affordable dress (100 dollars!! Below my budget! What!) that fit me great. It felt even better knowing that the money I spent goes to a great cause.
The space is larger than I expected, clean, and like I said before, plenty of options for whatever style you're looking for.
I will always recommend this shop. Thank you for giving me a great experience!

Five stars is not enough! I have two daughters with weddings coming up and they were both able to find amazing dresses here that they absolutely love. We came here because the cause they support is very close to our hearts. They have a huge selection of dresses, and the volunteer consultants are absolutely fabulous to work with. They are caring, supportive, body-positive, and knew how to make both of my girls feel like they were the most special bride. Plus helping them think about what they liked and disliked as they were trying on dresses with no sales pressure - they allowed them to make the shopping experience exactly what they wanted it to be. Couldn't be happier that my daughters are both TBP brides!

A surprising number of high quality dresses and a diverse selection at a great price!
Had a lovely time here, the consultants were all so nice and you can tell they enjoy being there and helping the brides. Most dresses were in the $500-900 range and as someone who wanted a less traditional dress there were still plenty of options to try on. Especially if you are in a bridal size 8-12 (street size 4-8). The cherry on top is that most of the proceeds go to a wonderful cause! A hidden gem, would absolutely recommend going or donating your dress to this shop.

This is truly such a wonderful establishment. I went with my best friend to pick out her wedding dress and everyone who volunteers here is absolutely the best. We had such a great experience - Lisa was so knowledgeable and helped my friend pick the most perfect gown for her special day. All proceeds go to cancer research and funding for support for families, and overall this is just an incredible place to do business. I will recommend them for anyone else I know getting married. ❤️

Incredible customer service and a great cause. I can't wait to wear my dresses I bought her to my wedding and shower. The selection was great. The value was incredible but even better is the cause!

The service was truly a dream. Picked the first dress I tried on. I knew it was the one. IT WAS STUNNING! But the reason I gave it 3 stars is because seamstress didn't listen when I told her I was going to lose weight before the wedding. I told her to go in a size and she refused. I picked up my dress and it was big. She told me to get dress tap, remind you my dress is a good 20 pounds. I'm a small girl. 0-2 in pants. My dress was a size 2. My dress looked big on me. You could see my boobs because the front was so big.

Loved my shopping experience at The Brides Project. I only needed one stop here to find my dress. The woman assigned to walk us through the store was helpful and nice. Love that 100% of proceeds are donated. Ended up getting a dress which a retail value almost 2X as much as I paid. Nice selection of styles and sizes. Even bought some hair accessories. Spent about 900 dollars for my dress, hair pins, and garment bag. 10/10 would recommend.

I came here yesterday with one of my bridesmaids and my mom, with high expectations since friends had recommended the shop to me, and I wasn't disappointed. This was the 4th bridal store I visited, the other three being regular bridal shops (one in Howell, one in WB, and David's Bridal in Novi). I knew going in that all proceeds are donated to cancer charities, which is great; I didn't know that all the employees are volunteers, too. Our assistant was Lisa and she was great. In my two-hour appointment I probably tried on 5-7 dresses. Some weren't as "fancy" as I wanted (mostly the Torrid ones, but the prices were excellent; $50+) but I found two I really liked, and ended up buying one! For $450, which is about 1/4 the price of another dress I saw at one of the other shops and really liked. They do alterations there too - the shop itself allows credit cards but the seamstresses, who are also volunteers, just take cash or check. The shop advised me to come back about 3 months before my wedding to start the alterations process, so that would be June of next year. They told me they do cost-effective alterations, too, so this is where I'll be taking my dress. Overall super pleased with this store, and glad that their mission is so charitable, too.

Where is the love?
These ladies are rude and lack professionalism and courtesy.
