An unexpected, delightful find!! I accidentally discovered Spun while meandering around in Kerrytown while waiting for someone. I've usually stuck to the grocery store on the first floor and shops on the second floor, and discovered a small hallway tucked away just to the edge of Monohan's Seafood Market. Spun has several aisles of yarn, organized by their uses and material. For example, they have a section of fingerling yarn that are more lightweight and great for projects where you're knitting more delicate things like socks. There are knitting and crocheting classes you can take here, and events where you can sit in a knitting circle with others to chat while working on projects. Some of the materials and tools are a little pricy, but otherwise reasonable in cost. Cool little spot! Will definitely stop by here again in the future if I decide to start knitting again.

Absolutely wonderful staff whether you place an online order or go in person (I highly recommend the latter), and definitely a massive selection of pretty yarn and all the notions from which to choose. You won't be disappointed. One day I'll make it over for the open crochet/knit sessions.

Spun is fantastic! The staff is friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. They sell amazing fibre and have supplies for all fibre related hobbies. I especially appreciate how they encourage community by having drop-in crafting times, classes, and comfy places to sit and craft. This place is absolutely marvelous.

super lovely little (not actually that little i’m saying that to conjure an image) yarn store in downtown ann arbor. super great selection of beautiful yarns and very helpful and friendly staff. i’ve been here s few times both before and after they moved to expand and i’ve never left disappointed.my favorite little detail is that their yarn swift has a photo of taylor swift taped to it which i find hysterical and, as a huge swiftie, i loved seeing.

I needed the perfect yarn to make an apfgan in the University of Michigan colors. My grandson graduated this past year, and my son suggested that I make the apfgan. I live in Florida and really was not sure I'd get the colors. I did a search and liked the reviews I saw for Spun. I called and spoke to the nicest lady ( I wish I had remembered her name). We discussed the yarn I wanted and, of course, the colors. Five days later, the package was at my door. I'm almost finished with the apfgan. The yarn is perfect. I will definitely order again. Thank you, Spun!

This local yarn shop is within the KerryTown market in downtown Ann Arbor. I definitely recommend stopping in if you are downtown for an event, like the farmer's market. They have a very large of hand spun and dyed yarn, a lot of it local. It's almost too much and overwhelming for me. A lot of the yarn is very expensive, but it is beautiful quality and unique dye lots. The UP North Yarns often creates options for this store alone. The employees are very knowledgeable about the product and will wind up the product you buy into yarn cakes. The only downside is that they only have a small area for knitting, which is almost always full. I have found it difficult to break in and meet new people here because it seems like their groups are essentially at capacity. They do offer classes here, so I suppose I need to check it out one day.
