Short Edition: Making Appointments without Clients' consent which creates chaos and possible cancelation fees for carless clients.
Longer version:
On a Sunday I got an unexpected call from the Sephora in Briarwood mall.
They called to tell me that the appointment was cancelled because the beauty technician/waxologist could not be in at the requested time
They asked me if I would like to reschedule at this particular location.
I said,"No."
She said that it might be possible for me to get a spot at this other location and asked me if I would like the other number. I said, "Sure."
The problem is that a bit later I saw that there was an email and it said that I had an appointment in the Sephora on Washtenaw Avenue. It said that IF I DID NOT CANCEL THEN I WOULD BE CHARGED A FEE.
I was pretty livid when I saw this because I didn't make the appointment. And now I was going to be charged a fee for something I had nothing to do with it.
I called the the other Sephora location and mentioned that it was ridiculous that an appointment was made without my consent and that now I was charged a fine.
I was told that they this way I would have an appointment on the books. ?♀️
What these people do not understand is that I am carless and to take a long bus ride to this other Sephora location would not be easy for me and could render me further disabled.
They eventually canceled the appointment.

Wish I could give this customer service 0 stars. Two of the females that spoke to me were extremely rude and impatient. When I asked about a skin tint, one of the employees informed me that it would certainly not be enough to cover my acne, which I have actually been feeling good about because it’s FINALLY clearing up. I would describe their attitudes as condescending, acting as if I was clueless about makeup, just because of my acne. The other employee asked me 6 times while in the store if I was ready to check out yet, hovering over every move that I made.

Well, what I wanted was in stock, so that's a plus. The sales person who "assisted" me didn't look particularly enthusiastic; no smile, general "going through the motions" attitude. Suggest that she might want to find employment that she actually enjoys.

It was an ok experience at the Sephora in briarwood mall. Went in to purchase a foundation and concealer. The guy at the counter was super helpful (though a bit impatient/ judgemental). We did finally find the product we were looking for.

I got a 90 minute makeover by Tatyana at the Briarwood Sephora today and she did an incredible job! I absolutely love the way I look. It's exactly what I had hoped for. Not only did she do a great job, but Tatyana was warm, fun and easy to talk to. It was delightful to spend 90 minutes getting pampered with her and my boyfriend was over the moon with the results - what could be better? Highly, highly recommend!

They cheated me! Yes, they did! I bought a number of items in store. During checkout the person took one of the item from my basket after scanning and changed it to the unpackaged one with no bar code on it. And the worst part is that the person even changed the shade. When I went to return, it wasn’t even existed in my purchase slip because they scanned another item and gave me something else. It wasn’t returned. I don’t bother my return but this is far beyond the basic ethics and morality. I’m not going there again.

I received poor customer service from the manager working on 9-6-2023 around 420 pm. My return was over their return period which isn’t even stated on the packing slip. The associate told me her manager can help with these things and it’s up to his discretion. He said the system would not allow it even though the other associate said they can make it work if he wanted to because it’s up to his discretion. I was going to shop but how the situation was handled left me uncomfortable. I will take my business to other freestanding Sephora stores on the rare occasion I step into a store so I will not have to deal with people like them.

Rude sephora employees. The girl checking my friend out was being impatient while my friend was counting her coins that the worker ASKED her to do, so she gave my friend an attitude when she was taking a minute to count them. The other two workers who were standing behind the counter were snickering at us.

Went today to use a gift card and was immediately reminded why I don’t shop here. From the moment I walked in I was racially profiled and targeted to be followed around the store. Madisyn followed me everywhere I went and made me so uncomfortable the entire time I rushed my purchase. All of the workers should be ashamed of themselves and honestly grow up and stop being racist in 2023. Just a FYI for the black shoppers that may come.
