They sell expired medicine-
Went in for some melatonin gummies and didn't think of anything of it... Two weeks later, I come to find that they're EXPIRED. Bought earlier this month, Feb 2024, while the actual date of expiry was Sep 2023. God knows how long this has actually been in storage. Do we seriously need to check if products being sold to customers are good for consumption now? No wonder this store was empty, their selling practices are full on illegal.

My girlfriend went to pick up her prescription and they didn’t give her the right amount of medication. She was walking to the exit door when she realized and came back to the counter, and they gave her unacceptable excuses to avoid fixing the issue. Manager joined just to make things worse with her rudeness. We already filed a complaint with the corporate office.

This rite had another black woman working there named talonda. She was a great cashier and was asking if she could move up. Trust me we needed the help! Nancy told her no bc her attendance wasnt good. They harassed her until she quit. Talonda still comes to shop and the supervisors refuse to ring her up bc they still hold aggression against her. The next black woman that got hired right after certain supermade remarks saying “shes another talonda”.

HIPAA VIOLATION ALERT: I went to pick up my prescription, they don't check your ID at all, and didn't even ask my name, I just gave them the first 3 letters and they just grabbed the bag and asked for month/date of my birth. Checking ID for prescription in Michigan isn't a requirement but this level of lousiness with patient data will really get them in big trouble sooner or later. When I brought up this issue, the pharmacists was very rude and eventually told me that they know everyone by their looks, and I had never seen that person in my life before! I asked for her manager's number and after lots of resistance, she eventually gave me a number that turned out to be her own work phone!! Avoid this pharmacy if you care about your information and also wanted to be treated professionally.

I would not recommend shopping at Rite Aid. They are not able to return anything unless you have the receipt, which can be incredibly inconvenient especially since many other competitors - CVS and Target - can look up your purchase based on your credit card. CVS even has the option to have your receipt emailed to you. In addition, their inventory tends to be low and their prices tend to be very high, especially compared to nearby stores (such as Kroger and CVS).

If I could give zero starts I would. Horrible pharmacy experience. When I consulted with the pharmacist about how to take a very serious medication, she told me I could take it with food and drinks. I explained it's the opposite of what I had read. She assured me I didn't need to take it on an empty stomach. However, when I got home and later opened the prescription and read the insert, the instructions were the exact opposite of what the pharmacist told me.I called and spoke with the pharmacy manager who told me that it wasn't there fault, it was my doctor's responsibility. She also shamed me and talked louder over me as I tried to explain what had happened. I can't imagine what would have happened if I followed the pharmacist's directions in terms of taking the medication.I reported her to the Rite Aid corporate office and they said they would follow up in 3-5 days with a phone call. It never happened. Rite Aid is worse than a 3rd world pharmacy. Stay away. The pharmacy manager should be fired.

The pharmacist (I presume and not the tech) was unreasonably rude to me today during the entire encounter with her but the important part is that when I asked about the USE OF THE MEDICATION. She told me none of the 3 (2 pain meds and 1 muscle relaxant) were for what I was told by the prescribing doctor they are used for. I now realize that the "muscle relaxant" can also be used for issues of constipation, but she simply told me the medical terms for the medications without applying the context I gave her and disregarding my questions very flippantly. The person who I was picking up the prescription for has been taking pain meds for a while and I did not want to give anymore medications than needed to protect his liver. Anyway, I asked the other pharmacist (kind older woman) the same question but the evil one butted in that she "already told me" in an aggressive manner. The kind one said I could call the pharmacy with questions about the medications but I was treated with such hostility that I am too uncomfortable to do so. -unimportant, but still wanted to share. She told me to wait 15-20 min and I came back around 12 minutes just to see if things finished early and asked "is it still some-more time? Okay." And she remarks "it hasn't been 15-20 min like I said right? Yeah its going to take that full time." In a rude tone. This is all poor etiquette when dealing with people clearly in sensitive situations to need to visit a pharmacy.
