NOW studios is a magical place! It’s like walking into Alice in Wonderland!! You definitely feel transported to another plane of existence as every nook and cranny is decorated in some fantastic and colorful way!! Not only do you feel this sense of euphoria from the art and decorations, you also feel a sense of warmth and acceptance from everyone you meet especially the founders! A place like this is definitely needed in this crazy world of ours where there is so much anger and prejudice! It’s nice to have a safe haven to go to where you can really express yourself!!!

A magical, zastical, wonderfilled place! There isn't any other color like it in the city. In the state! Why aren't there more of these? There is so much art. So many creative tools. Drag makeup, dresses, wigs, paint supplies, recording equipment, a projector, a stage--it's an underground creative paradise! There are events all week long and tons of inspiring people to meet. Did I mention it's a technicolor overload explosion of yes wow? Yeah! You gotta see it. Or at least go to the website and see the virtual tour. But preferably go there! This place soothes my soul and reminds me that it's okay to be different, to be free, to let your wild bits out sometimes, to explore the edges of possibilty! Gosh there's so much, craft tools, tarot readings, postcard parties, queer film screenings, drag shows, open mics, performance, activism, love, energyyyyyyyy...... Go feel the vibes, baby! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place and the experience we had. It was my daughter's 9th birthday and we walked past this store and we were encouraged and welcomed inside. We spent FOREVER enjoying the art, the artist, and the environment. She loved her time and would have spent her entire weekend there if they would have let her so instead with left with some amazing artwork. It's a must!

The owner exudes true unfiltered love in all his work, his energy, his goals, intentions and to every person to walls into his store. We walked away with art that truly expressed what we wanted to see everyday. Positive love towards the crazy life and mess we all are. Wish there was a place by me.

Mix one part artistic exploration, one part dress up and play show and one part therapeutic counseling, twirl it all together and you've got Express Your Mess. This is high vibrational positivity at its best. From the moment you step in you are caught up by the music and the color-filled walls and transported to a place of unicorns, magic and canvas. The curator Ricky ie Little Bird and Samer have created a safe place to let your hair down (or put it up in a wig). The "Birdcage" is full of love and light; you can converse about anything from paint to politics, drag to dogma. In short, Express Your Mess is a much needed breath of fresh air in the Port City. And did I mention that the artwork being created there is fresh, energetic and straight from the heart. If you haven't been yet, you have missed one of Wilmington's hidden jewels.
