Went in for fabric supplies and jewelry making supplies, the young woman Audrey helped me find everything I needed, She was super kind and had lots of patience with me. Even as I was walking around the store she was busy cleaning and picking up the isles. I don't normally leave reviews but this young woman's dedication was worth noting.

DOG ATTACK IN THE STORE IN FRONT OF EMPLOYEES! Went into Oak Valley Store and there was a blonde haired woman with her dog. She claimed this was a “therapy” dog and that she took the dog to Mott’s Children’s Hospital and the dog would often get in bed with the children. When asked if my grandson could pet the dog she was very happy to say absolutely yes. Within in two minutes the dog growled and bit my Grand on the right side of his face that we did not see until we took him to a different part of the store to calm him down. I quickly went over to the owner and explained to her that her dog bit my grand and she apologized and offered “paper therapy”. I was absolutely offended. The entire time the employee of Joann’s did nothing and when I walked away they continued to talk and laugh. We paid for our items and left and the woman and her dog was still in the store. I reached out to Joann Fabrics corporate and they told me someone would reach out by email in 48 hours, as if my Grand and his
trauma and bite to his little 2 year old face didn’t matter at all to the dog , the owner, the uninterested employee and to Joann’s corporate office. Customer Service was correct and they did reach out via email to tell me someone would be calling and someone did. The manger called to take my statement 48 hours later as well. She called so that she she could fill out an incident report. She did not even ask how my Grandson was doing . She was just as uninterested or sympathetic to what occurred in her store. A manager is supposed to lead and be an example. In talking with Teresa (the manager ) I can see why nothing was done immediately after the incident, The Manager was just as bad as the employees in the store that day. We have yet to be contacted by anyone with authority in this corporation. NO ONE! NO ONE! He is little and her suffered that day! The fact that this unpredictable animal was allowed to stay and the owner offered me money to keep quiet is extremely offensive and not of line. I wonder why She did this , was it because we are people of color? She thought she could buy us so that she could continue to bring this dog anywhere and put children and adults at risk? This Dog is clearly NOT a true service animal. There was NO vest and the behavior of the animal is unpredictable. How dare you let child get close to this dog! I have reached out to Animal Control for help with this matter so We have support, unlike Joann Fabrics where there is none. The Dogs name is Rooney I will attached photos so if you see this dog RUN! This is a great Joann! Someone at a different Joann had made an honest mistake when cutting my fabric and the assistant manager was super helpful today in getting it all sorted out. Thank you so much for your help!!

Google says they’re open until 9pm on tuesday but I got here at 7:30pm and all the lights are off. Please update your hours on google- some people drive 30mins to get here.

It's a small store, but it had what I needed. I needed an opinion for a project that I'm doing, so I approached an older lady at the cutting counter.. I wish I got her name because she was so RUDE. She treated me like I was dumb and acted like I was wasting her time. I was so baffled... I walked away from her and approached a younger staff who was AMAZING and helped me put together my project, which is why I gave the store 3 stars.

Beware of the ponytail gal she'll tell you donate to the charity and you can get 40% off your fabric but the reality is it was already on sale and she just lied about it to get donation... She literally said if you donate any money I will give you 40% off so management should probably have a chat with her about that...other than that I really like this store

Rude staff ordered a online pick up just a hot glie gun and some glue sticks. They canceled the hot glue gun and gave me the sticks. Was told the gun was out of stock. Ordered the same gun in a different order same day 5 minutes after I picked up the first. Lazy rude staff will be going to canton or Jackson or hobby lobby

I love this store , they have great selections and most of the employees are really awesome. I would give this store five stars but there are..some employees in the store I have issues with. While I was shopping I overheard one of the mangers (Threasa) yelling at an employee on the sales floor. Just ripping into the poor kid and being really nasty. I haven't really stopped in since.i usually like this store alot better because the staff are way nicer than at ypsilanti and it's a smaller store which helps with my anxiety. But after hearing that women just be well... not so nice to her staff. I don't know if I'll shop there while she's in the store.Props to the rest of the employees though. Good luck!!

I asked if they could cut 5 yards of material at 1 yard increments, I was told no they could only cut it at 5 yards. The reasoning for this is because i cant cut a straight line to save my life, but I figured I had no choice, even bought a $25 dollar set of scissors to give it a try. I messed it all up cutting it to short and wasted $75 in material. Come to find out amazon will cut it this way for and are cheaper. Lesson learned
