I was very disappointed and upset by my experience. I was told brakes pads and rotors would be a little less than $1000 for my 2019 Subaru Impreza and that OEM-brand parts would be used. I provided the rep with the make and model of my car and called twice to confirm this (review the phone recording if you don't believe me). This is the reason I went with Hoover over another shop. I found out 3rd party parts from O'Reillys were used (I'm sure the cheapest available) instead and the actual price was around $1300 for just pads and rotors. It would have cost the same to have it done at the dealer with OEM parts which was important to me. Additionally trying to get me to replace filters for $160+ is highway robbery (Subaru dealer in downtown Chicago wanted half that last year). I did the cabin and engine air filter myself in 2 minutes for less than $40.
This is not my first negative experience here, and I will never be coming back.

My husband and I bring all three of our cars in for service at Hoover and are always very satisfied with their care and professionalism. We highly recommend the shop and love the personal service the guys up front always provide. Thanks Hoover St!!

Called Hoover Auto Repair to take a look at our 2009 Subaru that had leaked all it's oil in our grandaughter's apartment parking space . Refered us to a tow company to bring it to their repair shop to check it out. An initial inspection indicated that the engine gaskets and seals were badly damaged and the engine would probaly have to be replaced and that it may not be worth fixing given the age and condition of the car. Offered to do detailed analysis if we wanted to try fixing it. We decided not to and the sales person suggested a savage company to call. Despite all their help, Hoover Auto Repair didn't charge us for looking at the car or the referrals. Thank you, we really appreciate your service.

Friendly, honest, and quick. I didn’t end up servicing my vehicle here, but did have a great experience and would recommend to others.

I have a 2017 Forester. I've become frustrated with the local Subaru dealer service department, so tried Hoover Street instead. I needed a variety of maintenance items completed and had a more complex issue come up. I needed repairs done prior to a planned road trip that was to take place in less than a week of me contacting them. They have a road trip inspection, so did that and addressed all of the other issues. Staff was easy to communicate with and very helpful. I appreciated the process: emailing me the quote with images and information for me to review, then discussing specifics and what will be done via phone. Pick up and drop off was easy as well. I will be a return customer.

After years of reliable advice (including advice *not* to purchase certain services), I trust them with my cars and money, and what else can you want from a mechanic?

One of my headlights went out with hardly anytime for me to get it fixed before working a few night shifts. I called them and they had me come in right away and fixed it for me. I definitely feel safer getting home this weekend!

With each of our interactions, staff communicate very well and prioritize which issues need to be addressed with higher priority and which can wait. We’ve been able to get fast service at a reasonable cost.

Love the fact that you do a complete inspection and then consult before any repairs are done.

Cody was super polite and helpful. He called back after a missed call, double checked to make sure our phone call was forwarded properly to their partner store to work on my foreign vehicle, and even left a voice mail with the appropriate information.
William at Discount Tire suggested I try working with them, and I'm glad he did!
