After using an agent from Reinhart to write an offer on a home, and having another agent from Reinhart as the listing agent, Nancy Bishop, indicate that we had the successful bid on a house only to sell it to someone else, the general manager for Reinhart defended the practice and the agent. This is the worst real estate experience I've had after working on deals in several states. The General Manager was only interested in trying to cover up an unethical practice rather than seeking to improve and rectify poor performance. It is stunning that two agents from the same company would not work together, and in fact openly feud with each other and the General Manager would not seek to address the issue. A previous agent from the company had contacted us and indicated that Nancy Bishop had a bad track record of poor dealings with clients, but the general manage wasn't interested in addressing that issue. I would strongly encourage you to seek another real estate firm as you look to buy or sell real estate in Ann Arbor.

We worked with CURT ZELL at Charles Reinhart, and he was amazing. I have very high standards for realtors. My mom was a realtor. For all of my life, I watched her do her job impeccably. Seeing how well my mom did her job set a very high bar. No other realtor has ever measured up to my standards, until Curt Zell! He was amazing. Professional. On point. Great soft skills and hard skills. Willing to do the grunt work that is sometimes necessary to get a job done. A great negotiator. Curt Zell earned my highest recommendation. Hire him if you can. You will be lucky to have him as your realtor.

Susan Niethammer was the seller's realtor for a house I recently purchased in Ann Arbor. She has been very difficult to deal with -- she did not present my offer to the seller in a timely fashion (it took almost 72 hours for them to respond) and in the meantime they got a counter offer (yeah, right). All negotiations took nearly as long as well. She would not respond to the appraiser who needed to appraise the house so I could buy it and she had the house winterized while I was trying to get it inspected and appraised (seems to me that having running water is important to an inspection and appraisal). The seller gave her the garage door opener so she could park in the garage while she was on vacation and she lost it. I tried to get it back multiple times, and she would not return my phone call or email. I realize an opener isn't that expensive but it's the principle: if you lose something, you should replace it. I strongly advise against working with her. I have been in contact with someone at Reinhart re the opener and they have offered to buy a new one but then I still have to program it etc. Again, it's the principle of the issue.

I would highly recommend Carmen at Charles Reinhart! She’s professional, hard-working, and detail-oriented. Just what we needed in Ann Arbor’s competitive housing market! She got us into a great home that we love.

Worked with Jaye Klein to purchase my first home at Scio twp in Ann Arbor, she was extremely nice and helpful. It was a great pleasure working with her. She made everything so much easier for me. She has great knowledge of the house and the area.

The absolute best home buying experience of my life... and it was all because of Susan Tice Niethammer! She was awesome from the beginning to way past the end, not only finding us great places to look at but giving us killer insights on each one, the neighborhoods they were in, the market conditions, etc. She went above-and-beyond to insure that we closed on-time, even when the sellers agent disappeared into thin air the week before. We will be selling our other place through her and I'm certain we'll have another wonderful experience!

Curt Zell is an exceptional realtor! It's pretty easy to say nice things about your realtor when everything goes smoothly, but we had quite a few things go wrong and Curt helped us get though everything to ensure we got the home we wanted.A crummy mortgage broker (who we replaced), a short sale that fell through, a VA loan, and a few other hiccups were all things Curt helped us overcome and at every step of the process he was available, knowledgeable and helpful. He even got us a new sewer even though the sellers didn't want to install it.We ended up with the home we wanted at the price we wanted. If we buy another place in the area we will definitely work with Curt again!
